The build quality is exactly what you’d expect from SmallRig—solid metal construction, clean finish, and no play once everything is tightened down. The 1/4″ thread fits perfectly on my cage and accessories, and once locked in, it stays firmly in place. I’m currently using this mini head along with other mounting accessories to place an Osmo Pocket 3 on top of my Canon R7. This setup lets me record smooth video footage while I’m simultaneously taking photos, and it has worked surprisingly well. Even with the extra gear mounted, the cold shoe head holds steady and doesn’t shift during use. What I really appreciate is how compact it is.
