Michigan Off the Beaten Path®, 11th: A Guide to Unique Places (Off the Beaten Path Series)

I was hoping for more place in out of the way spots.

We always read an "Off the Beaten Path" book before travelling to a new US state. We do find hidden gems of restaurants, beaches, trails and other interesting things to look for. These books suit our casual travel style much better than the glossy local publications that feature high-end restaurants and chic boutique shopping.

It is a good and informative book, however I find it frustrating when he describes a place and does not show it in a map or give directions to it however I find it frustrating when you describe the place in does not show it in a map or give directions to it

Not as in depth as i was hoping for. But a great book nonetheless. Especially for someone without a ton of knowledge of the UP

I bought the softcover book years ago and I refer to it all the time! Figured I'd buy the e-book so I can keep it in my tablet or smartphone! One of my most used books.

Love the book. We have already done a few of the hikes. This book saves you so much time. It tells you how to get there and where to park. Love that it tells me what i can expect on the hikes as far as ease and how long it should take to hike. Cant wait to do them all.

The book was very helpful in planning our recent vacation. It offered suggestions of places to go and things to see with very compete information about how to find them. It lead us to some places that we wouldn't have found on our own. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to visit some out of the way places in Michigan.

Such a great big with fun Michigan stories! I bought it for my husband as a birthday gift and he is currently reading it and coming up with a list of places to go as we travel throughout the state during our summer trips.

I can't give this book more than 3 stars until we have used it later this year. On the face of it, it looks interesting and gives lots of informationwhich we shall need for our holiday in August. Can write another after we've used it.
