5 STARS! The start of another fantastic series from Lani Lynn Vale!!
Beard Mode is the first book in Lani Lynn Vale’s new series, The Dixie Wardens Rejects MC, the highly-anticipated spin-off series of her bestselling Heroes of the Dixie Wardens MC series. When Lani first started hinting about the series, I immediately paid attention. I am a huge fan of the Dixie Wardens MC series, so I was very interested in this series. In 2016, Lani took some big risks with her writing and tried new things as evidenced in her edgier, grittier Uncertain Saints MC series and her Kilgore Fire series. All of that experimentation has definitely paid off, and the results are obvious in this series. I’ve always loved her writing style and the way she tells a story. She’s returned to her roots in Beard Mode, but with a sharper and more polished writing style that translated into a richer and fuller plot. She’s introduced a whole new slate of intriguing characters in a new location, and I can’t wait to get my hands on these books!Beard Mode is more intense than the Dixie Wardens MC series with an exciting, interesting plot that kept me on the edge of my seat until late into the night. One of the hallmarks of any Lani’s novels is the way that she weaves her unique sense of humor into the story, so I was very happy to find plenty of her wit throughout this story. I’ve been waiting for Aaron’s story since he was introduced in the Kilgore Fire series. He has been through so much, both physically and emotionally, and I was very much looking forward to seeing him make his way to the other side of all of that. Imogen was the perfect heroine for this damaged man. She was patient, she was loyal, she was kind and honest. She was exactly what he needed, she gave as good as she got, and their love story was very sweet and sexy. Now that I’ve read this book, I am even more excited about the whole series than I was before. She has given her readers the start of something special in this series, and as a fan of hers since the very beginning, I’m beyond thrilled. Beard Mode by Lani Lynn Vale gets five smooches from me!~ Danielle for Red Cheeks Reads

Hmmm...not sure how I feel
I wasn't real sure what to expect with these books, but this wasn't it. Let me start with my issues. This is my first story ever by her, but I assumed that since it was the first in the series there would be world building. It is the first with the rejects, but not the first in this world. There is a whole lot missed if you haven't started with the first story she ever wrote. I felt like I was reading a book written from one friend to another and there was a lot I wasn't getting. For example I felt like there was so much to Aaron I was missing. He was burned but the really don't explain it well until later on in the book, and even then it wasn't very clear. I have no clue what happened to the ex. I have a feeling his life was discussed in the previous books from a different series and the author chose not to elaborate for this book. All of the club members have daytime jobs. They are all over the police force, and the fire department. Not a huge issue, but not what I was expecting of a motorcycle club.Aaron group in the town in the book, then moved when he was 11, but came back every summer. The summary will have you assuming that he just randomly picked this town, not true. Also I didn't like how the author made it seem like Aaron knew no one when in fact he knew everyone. I had no idea his mom was in town until we are introduced to her at her restaurant. It wasn't described as her restaurant just as the diner in town. It was at this point in the book where you find out he is from here.My final issue is how she described things. Imogen walked into the restaurant with someone else's arm around her shoulder. We get this from his perspective, but then we don't know where she goes in the restaurant. He ends up talking to her, but we don't know where he is looking. Is she standing up, where in the restaurant. Is she sitting, again where. Too complicated to figure out what the author is trying to do and say on top of all the missing information that must be in other books. The only good point for me is the fact that I thought so hard about this book. It has to be something if I am still thinking about it days later. So that is why the three stars.

Beard Mode Gave Me Beard Burns!
OMG! I have wanted Aaron “Fatbaby” Sims’ book since he was introduced! I desperately wanted him to get a HEA with a kickass woman. (Spoiler alert!) HE DID!!! YAY!!!!!Imogene is my kind of woman. She knows what she wants, is honest about her feelings, and doesn’t fiddle-fart around playing games trying to get her man’s attention. She puts it out there and is rewarded. Aaron is the same. I was so stoked to read this book and get the down and dirty of their story.BUT OMG! Lani!! Did you have to make me cry? Not far into the book, either! I was like what the heck! Then, oh, heck no, that DID NOT happen!?!?!?!? (And yes, I did not use the work ‘heck,’ but Amazon is very strict about potty mouths.)This is one book you don’t want to miss. I one-click Lani and regularly stalk Amazon looking for her pre-orders. Anything Ms. LLV writes is pure gold and you’ll enjoy reading again and again. I can honestly say “Boomtown” is my go-to book to re-read when nothing interests me. Good thing these books are electronic, because I would’ve broken the spines on her books by now. I so look forward to this interesting bunch of characters. She sprinkled enough salt and pepper in her book to season our appetites so we can’t wait to read the next character’s book…..and the next book…..and the next book.#BeardBurnsAreWorthIt#BeardMeBoy#FatbabyIsNotACrybaby

New series, good characters
This was an enjoyable start to a new series. I did find it a bit disjointed in places and found I had to re-read certain passages to know what was being said. We were introduced to plenty of new characters which will likely have their own stories. There were some unanswered questions as well like what was Aaron's reaction to the plastic surgery done on his face. I just wanted to get a more rounded story. On to book 2!
