Somewhat of a see-saw
This is a sort of a memoir from the Irish Times columnist about his life and relationships. it varies from light to heavy; from serious to hilarious. Some of it is, I feel, so trite as to be included only as filler.

Terrific
I enjoyed this so much. The essay on working as a carer is absolutely spot on and really took me back to a particular time in my life. I laughed and I cried the whole way through this book and can’t recommend it enough.

Brilliant and honest ! Everyone wants to be a rock star and be happy
Anyone born in the 80s will understand the Ireland of then! And trying to grow up cool with friends be in a rock band ! The serious side to why people take risk to be happy and popular . Refreshing to know that we are not alone with OCD and other mental health issues. Loved it honest and funny

Sorry not to my taste
I feel as if I was listening to someone talking to me I would be stifling yawns. It's the type I thing families would talk about during get togethers and mean something to only them, I don't mean to be unkind but as I said not to my taste

Funny and occasionally unexpectedly moving
Freyne has a very witty self deprecating style, and these short days are very enjoyable. Fire every moment where I chuckled out loud, there was a moment of unexpected weight or loss. It's a really enjoyable read if you want a break from fiction.
