False Flag: A Spy Thriller

This is quite a good story spoilt by it been glaringly obvious who the leak is coming from and a yawn, bore all action shoot out that just lasts forever at the end.There are quite convincing description descriptions of MI5/MI6 meetings complete with designations and code words. Good evocation of places like Jerusalem, Cyprus and Marseille. And the main character is quite likeable.

Good story, easy to read unlike too many spy stories. Enough "gritty reality" to be realistic but he avoids excessively graphic sex and violence. Plenty of twists and turns in the plot building steadily to the final resolution. Interesting, credible (mostly likeable) characters, well described locations and a good eye for detail. A believable view into the world of the security services complete with occasional high-octane action and a lot more humdrum leg-work for little payback and tedious bureaucracy. The plot moves fast enough not to get bogged down in any of these. Even handed treatment of the ethnic factions and national allegiances show the nightmare of middle eastern geopolitics today. I couldn't put it down and read the book in one day.

A very capturing good tale reading is no way a problem or effort at all one is part of this Secret MI5 & MI6 story right from page 1 ! So get reading all !!!

Duplicity,duplicity. A fast pace d novel with a gritty reality. Thoroughly enjoyed. wou!d make a great film but then the energy of the last few chapters would probably be missed

This was a ripping yarn the baddie was so obvious it was laughable not a book for a grown up

I wasn't disappointed. This matches anything I've read in the genre for a long time. It captured my attention from the off and the lead character is likeable and believable. Plenty of action as you'd expect, but with enough background detail to show the author has done his homework.

Having read the author's bio, I wasn't optimistic but I was running out of spy thrillers to read. I was so wrong. On a par with the best of them. Fabulously atmospheric on locations and very well researched.

This was a great read. Full of twists and engaging characters.I hope the author writes more with these characters - please!
