Made in USA was a big perk considering there were cheaper alternatives and all were made in China. It's a nice sturdy brush and it does its job appropriately. I have a kiwi brush and found that this brush has much firmer bristles than the smaller and cheaper kiwi ones that come with polish sets. So, much so that it had me looking at the kiwi and wondering if the kiwi one was really horse hair or some other synthetic fibers, I'm not even sure now. There was some shedding, I was prepared for that and I actually vacuumed the brush to start and laid down a mat to catch the sheds. But as others may have mentioned, as I continued to use the brush the shedding subsided. I did two pair of boots and by the time I was finishing the second pair I wasn't seeing much come off.

Caring for my boots has been a personal hobby for about 10 years. I've gotten compliments from pros. It's just something I do to relax. I got one my other bigger brush from the hanger project which has amazing things for shoe care & dress. I thought I had lost that brush at an event. So I ordered this one because Amazon would get it here quicker. I didn't expect much from this brush. I thought I'd use it until I could snag a better on. This brush is amazing & even better than what I had before. No issues with it shedding at least nothing noticeable. I used have issues with shedding with other brushes until I realized it was my heavy hand causing most of it. I won't guarantee you no shedding but I noticed none. Take it from a supply snob, this brush is really nice.

I used this brush to clean my leather shoes and it works great. I have the same size brush and use that to buffer the wax or conditioner. Works like it supposed to.

I have finally evolved to the point where I am investing in taking care of my own shoes and not getting random shoe shines at train stations and airports. I purchased a bunch of Saphir shoe polishes in several colors along with conditioners, and of course...brushes. So many choices. I knew that I wanted an 8" brush, so that narrowed it down, as most are quite small. The professionals recommend these larger sizes. This particular brush checked all of the boxes: Horsehair, right size, wood handle, good reviews, reasonable price, and QUALITY. I hate buying things twice, so I do research to get the best i can get the first time around. I don't regret this purchase one bit! It's a quality brush, especially for the price. It does shed a bit in the beginning, as some have mentioned, but that receded after a few uses, and was never a ridiculous amount in the first place. Highly recommend!

It’s often times difficult to make a choice when reviewing similar products. Needing a soft buffing brush for my fine leather dress shoes I considered several options before buying the Red Moose brush. First impression was favorable, it appears to be well made, it fits my big paw comfortably. The telling is how it performs. After several polishing sessions I have not seen a problem with shedding as some reviews indicated. A couple bristles here and there is to be expected but I feel good about my decision to go with this buffing brush and would likely recommend it to others.

I don't know what a professional brush would look or feel like, but this one made me feel like a pro and did a great job on my boots!!
