The slightly exaggerated rattlin' and suspending action of the Jointed Shad Rap, now with a shallow diving lip. The near the surface, struggling action perfectly imitates a baitfish in distress. Even at the slowest of speeds the jointed shad body looks and vibrates like a wounded baitfish. Multi-species appeal.

Classic lure
Rapala has always been my go to for crank baits. I just wish Rapala would stop putting rattles in their jointed baits. It's hard to find one without rattle balls. These offer a ton of flash and action while reeling really slowly. More time in the strike zone. Great summer time baits. My father prefers non-jointed, so we are often throwing identical baits (in size and color) except for the joint on mine. It's about even as to who catches more fish.

Great product!
First off i will start this review stating that it is a rapala product. So it is of very good quality. I have tried spinnerbaits, yomomotos etc, i bought this lure for a particular lake i fish in the middle of nowhere that nobody knows about. I caught many perch in this lake. So i knew they were on the food chain. I bought the perch lure and by god it worked amazing. 2nd cast caught this monster in the pic below. Makes a lot of noise under water to get their attention and piss them off. The colors are perfect and the action is incredible. It does state that it doesnt sink nore float, that it "suspends" mine suspends for a few seconds then slowly floats. Great product for the price. I will be buying more of these babies!

Shallow jointed shad rap a good choice as always
I used to use the deep diving jointed shad raps back when I started to get into bass fishing and it was always my go to lure next to using speed traps on the CA Delta. After wanting to start using them again and finding the lure that I once loved, I took a look on amazon and I found the shallower running ones and it really surprised me because there are times where you need something shallow running but has intense action at the same time and this lure does it for me. Good choice for any beginner or experienced angler.By the way it works well as a stop and go jerk bait as well but be sure to keep a little tension on ur line after u stop the lure while retrieving as the hooks tend to swing under the lure and can catch the slack line. Anyway a good buy both deep and shallows running. The smaller version has higher sounding rattles and this bigger version has deeper sounding rattles.Tight Lines!Chris A

multispecies
I love these baits. I love to be able to run them shallow over the tops of the weeds or near the shorelines. I've found that I can catch pike, walleyes, and perch with regularity with these. My favorite colors are perch and the blue shad color. I regularly outfish my buddies who are using flicker shads and other popular baits.

1/2 bird? 1/2 fish?
Loves trees, this particular species can be seen making nests on overhanging branches above lakes & ponds throughout the entire year. Mostly during spring & summer months during peak activity. Also serves as an occasional food source for local aquatic fauna. Would definitely recommend to any aspiring fisherman/birdwatcher.

The Baby Bass Rapala is THE BEST at catching bass
The Baby Bass Rapala is THE BEST at catching bass, and even Crappie, when my family goes lake fishing. We probably have about 7/8 between all of us, and it's always worked out to guarantee at least one catch every time we go out. They are pretty easy to remove from the mouth and I've never had a problem with the hooks rusting, joint breaking, etc.

Hawaii Pacific Ocean APPROVED!
I recently started kayak fishing with my buddy in a two-man Hobie kayak. We have been trolling different parts of the island, and decided to try this one out on the south shore of Oahu. Caught 3 ladyfish and then snagged a 3.5lb Papio (Blue Trevally). Really excited about going back out and using this lure again. We were trolling in about 3-4' of water, when we caught the ladyfish, but caught the Papio while we were trolling through 12-20' of water. Really love the action this lure gets!

I took this out the other day to a lake ...
I took this out the other day to a lake that is notoriously hard to fish. I was toward the end of my time at the lake and decided to bust this baby out. I had 19 lb fluorocarbon test with 8:1 retrieve on my 13 fishing orgin a baitcaster with a MH Elite Ugly Stick. I got 2 large mouth bass in 2 cast. They were not keepers but hey, it works.
