Not a reliable indicator of formaldehyde or TVOC - Great variation between units
Despite no reviews yet on Amazon, I took a chance on this unit. The price was right and I needed six detectors to place in various areas of my home, trying to track down a suspected formaldehyde issue.I ordered a single unit at first. Followed the setup instructions to the letter. The device indicated .110 mg/m3 of formaldehyde, so I ordered 5 more, thinking that I'd found what I needed for the task.I set up the five additional detectors exactly as the instructions stated, but before I did, I installed Energizer Lithium AA batteries so al units had the same brand new battery supplies. After calibrating all six units (initial unit plus the additional five), I brought them inside for a test.I sat all six units in the same area, a few inches apart from each other to make sure they were all with a reasonable results of each other, like 10%. At each test, I allowed the devices to settle down for five minutes.WOW. The indicated results were all over the place. Formaldehyde readings were from .130 to .005 mg/m3 across the six devices. I tested these several times and recalibrated them several times and every time, the results were the same. I numbered the units 1 - 6 and tracked the higher an lower reading ones, but with the exception of two units, the other 4 would change their readings after every recalibration. Two units retained very-high readings every time. The APO (auto power off) event occurs quite quickly. Then, when you repower the device. there is a 180 second warm-up countdown, despite the fact that the sensor is already warm from having just run a full duty cycle. Basically, you can't sit this in a room for 20 minutes and return - it will APO.Also note that the batteries shipped with this unit are incredibly cheap Chinese alkaline batteries. They lasted for three cycles and died. I replaced them in all six units with Energizer Lithium AA batteries and after dozens of power cycles, they still indicated three bars of three bars on charge.I just returned all six units for a refund.

A portable air quality tester... might provide some peace of mind...
I was not quite sure about this when I ordered it, but it does give me some peace of mind. I wanted to validate that there was little cause for worry in family houses, and the device readings seem consistent though different at each locale. All readings seemed to be within an acceptable range. The unit takes a while to reach a conclusion when turned on... and then there is an LED above the three white ones that lights green, yellow, or red based on the digital readings above. While it may not be accurate when searching for miniscule concentrations of formaldehyde or VTOCs, it claims to be good enough for basic testing of places that you may be spending time. I think that this is good enough at a price of less than 30USD...I have no means to validate the readings, but I am rating this four stars for the peace of mind and for what it does provide as opposed to any areas that are lacking that I do not know about nor understand. As always, your mileage and preferences may vary...

Not Sure I Trust This
I’m moving into a brand new home soon, and got this device because I’m interested to see if there’s anything off gassing from the carpeting and other materials. This doesn’t come with instructions. You have to scan the QR code, then you get directions that are a bit hard to understand, as they’re translated from Chinese. You also can’t use this right out of the box. You have to leave it outside for a couple of hours where there’s good air quality, then follow a bunch of steps to calibrate it. Somewhat of a pain and I’m not sure if I did it correctly.I took a reading inside my home and got some numbers. Goody, I guess? There’s no explanation of what the numbers mean and no way of knowing if anything is really being measured. They could just be some bogus numbers. I don’t feel confident about this air quality monitor.

Is it actually measuring anything??
I’m not sure what to make of this air quality testing device. First of all, there are no instructions included in the package, only a QR code to scan and find the instruction manual. Instruction manual, though, is a stretch. The instructions are difficult of follow, they seem repetitive (wait 3-5 minutes is a frequent directive), and we were unsure if we’d accomplished what we were supposed to accomplish in all of the steps.Next, there is also no information on what the readings tell you. I understand that green is good, yellow okay, and red cause for concern. The actual readings we got were numbers that fluctuated between .003 and .05 (or similar) and we were unsure if we could trust that the readings were accurate. It didn’t leave us with much sense of confidence that we know any more about the air quality in our house than we did before running the test.

Good Air Quality Monitor
Very simple to use device to look at my house air quality. it uses 2 AA battery and only has one button, long press for on and off.Device is very easy to understand, it will show a red light when the air quality is bad and will show a green light when the air quality is neutral or good. The only thing i don't like is that i have to wait 180 second for the device to start working. other than this everything is great and i really like this device. THANKS

Unreliable
Afraid I can't speak for how accurate it truly is, but it didn't change much when put in a tank with a CO2 generator, which is concerning. It does seem to respond a bit to smoke, but not by much.

Seems to Work
This had foreign writing on the box and zero instructions inside. You have to scan the code on the box with your phone to see the manuel. I put the batteries in. Turned it on and looked on the internet to see if I could find information about what the letters and numbers meant. I guess it works and my home registered good to very good quality air which is great and surprising to me. I will have to check the place where I work!
