I absolutely adore the talents of Jill Scott. I love her passion in her art, her singing voice with her tailor made songs and I love to hear her speak when she recites poetry on the odd occasion that I will get to hear it. However, this book did not meet my high expectations as I had anticipated. The book is a good read and would be much appreciated by fans and other poetry lovers but it did not 'wow' me. Some topics were disturbingly repetitive and I expected more range. It is worth a read but I prefer to listen to her self-written songs as opposed to reading her poetry or to just watch her perform her poems. That would be more satisfactory I suppose.

As a fan this is just a nice keep sake to own - collectors item. Poetry is not all by Jill Scott though but nice to imagine it's pieces she may have selected.

I am a huge fan of Jill Scott's music, and to come across this book, well, i could hardly wait for it to arrive. Anyone who is familiar with jill's music will not be disappointed with the content and style of this poetry collection.

her words are just absolutely beautiful and honest. I've always been a fan of her lyrics and music but this book is something else - I can relate so much to it.
