Hot lava and hotter love
Nettie’s gift is pricey - to bring on her visions she must draw blood, specifically hers. When her gift leads her to interrupt Prince Vokal’s retreat from responsibility, the resulting strange attraction leads the pair off-world and into the middle of one bizarre social experiment, two ancient warring galactic super-powers, and a third member of their relationship - a dragon!? Its a bit more complicated than that, but its a wonderful romance and a perfect finish to a great series. Im dying for the boxset release!

Tempted.. Yes...traitor... no.
Wonderful ending to a great series. Nettie and Vokal had quite a courtship (?). Along the way they made some good friends. And saved a peace project.

Back to farming.
Love this series. The characters were great to get to know and as each book bought the world around it into focus. Evil is out there no matter where you live.

loved it
Love a good redemption story and Vokal’s is a good one. When he first showed up in book 5 he played the part of a villain, but even by the end of that book his own plotting had backfired enough that he ran off to start over. Leaving behind technologies and comforts to live in the forest alone, reevaluating his life. Which is where Nettie found him. Nettie’s past is dark and tragic, filled with loss, kept caged and experimented on. After being rescued several books back she has been healing but always quiet, until now she knows that Vokal is needed in the last battle of the series, and she knows that she needs to go with him.

Part of a serial
From the description that I read of this book, I believe it to be the Standalone that was part of a series. That's not entirely true. There are events that happened in previous books that if you have not read them when they are mentioned about the main characters is confusing. There's something about the heroine's eyes that happened in previous books and I was completely lost about that. There are other instances of this. Having a brief, "she looked in the mirror at her damaged eye caused by a bacteria (which it wasn't) would be enough so we're not wondering. Other than that, it's pretty good book.

Nettie and Vokal
Nettie has made cruel experiences in her past, because of her gift of foresight. Vokal had a Venom addiction and is a convicted traitor prince of the royal family of the empire, who lives alone in the forest until Nettie comes and urges him to visit Cigni III with her, a colony, where Alliance and Empire citizens and other species live in peace together under simple circumstances. They want to prevent an attack, which could cause an intergalactic war. Together they do their best to uncover evil machinations.I enjoyed reading the book. Vokal and Nettie both had a difficult life, but they overcome and develop future perspectives. I highly recommend this book.
