Still has proof reader comments
The book had been published and printed up with the proof readers corrections and notes remaining in the margin of the book. Very unprofessional.

A Hidden Part of WW2
Great to find out out about the code talkers that they even existed, but little detail of specifics and to much Indian history.

Formerly in-known Heroes of WWII
I wish we had done more for them and acknowledged them so much sooner. They were so wonderful.Since my father was an English Army pilot killed in WWII , it means even more to me about what they did. May they rest in Peace.

Wish There Was More
I think I was expecting a little more context in this book. It was a thin book, with all different kinds of printing. Just looked like it was just put together. It went here and there. I was hoping to hear more stories about theses brave men, and all they had been through.

Yes this book is about race and politics because it is the history of the Navajo and the Navajo code talkers
I just completed reading the Navajo Code Talkers: The History of the Native American Marines Behind World War II's Most Uncrackable Code. I found the book to be extremely interesting but it is not a World War II book per se. This book is a history of the Navajo and the Native American experience with the United States both before and after World War II. I had tears in my eyes after completing the book. These men did not receive appropriate recognition for their service until after 1968 when the United States government released the code talkers from the secrecy of the program. This book is a history of the Navajo code talkers not a specific history of the battles they fought. Some parts of this book is gonna make you angry but you will understand the legacy of the Navajo code talkers. Yes there is a discussion of race and politics but how could there not be when people are mistreated because of their heritage. I highly recommend that this book be read by every American. I would have given this book a five but there appeared to be a page missing between location 407 and location for 19. At the end of location 407 the book is talking about Native American troops in World War I then the first paragraph at the top of the page in location 419, starts with the word Iwo Jima. Maybe there's not a section missing but it doesn't read right.

Great heroes!
With all the injustices done to the Native Americans, these men came through in time of need. They are really true heroes in America today.
