Trust The Reviews
I purchased this after going through numerous other options for a Kia. While the vendor installation video isn't the greatest (it's way too short), it gave me the general idea. The installation is challenging only in the fact that it's under the driver side dashboard so you need to get yourself under there - not always an easy task. For my vehicle, I had no covers or anything to remove so it was literally a two minute job (that took more like 15 minutes trying to get under the dashboard). The manual is decent but you do need to read it a few times to make sure you understand the exact steps you need to program the device once installed.Once I finished installation, it didn't work but that's because I didn't follow the instructions for programming it. I easily reset and reprogramed it and once completed, it started right up!

Easiest Remote start ever! Love it!
I bought this for my wife's car as an X-mas gift. I owned a business and installed 12v for 20 years and sold my shop back in 2004. I installed hundreds of the "non pug and play" remote starts from Clifford and DEI and hated all the wire splicing and wiring diagram messes because quite frankly, these things were money pits for a business. If you can only charge $200 to install it, you may waste half the day. There isn't much profit there. Knowing this, I have been reluctant to add a remote start to her 2016 Sorento instead letting my poor wife suffer the cold mornings manually defrosting the car. This remote start looked appealing as after watching the video I thought this should go pretty easy if it truly is what it claims to be. The starter came in this afternoon but I could not get access to her car to install it until she went to bed. That happened at 11:00. I gave her ten minutes to drift off and ran outside after reading the manual thoroughly to make sure the 5 or 6 programming steps were memorized. I was literally in the car in the dark upside down for 6 minutes when this thing just came to life. I could have made a mint installing these in the 90's. Needless to say, as far as installation and functionality, this can't be beat. honestly, if I just handed it to her she could have put it in herself in less than 10 minutes. Just follow the programming steps and you can't go wrong. I can't speak to the durability yet but if something goes sideways, I will amend the post here. Meanwhile, if the post is unchanged, the product is A+. By the way, she won't even know she has it installed for four more days. The longer the struggle, the better the reward!

Very easy to install and program.
Let me just say that this thing was as easy to install as they made it sound. The hardest part was trying to find space to work under the dash. I had to lay down on my back on the floor with my legs sticking out the driver's side door to get adequate space to work but it wasn't terrible. The programming instructions were clearly written and worked on the very first try. I had a bit of a hard time finding a great place to cable tie the control box onto but I think the place I found will work okay. If not I can always redo it and try to find a better place to cable tie it to. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Poor Customer Service, Bad Unit!
Ordered this along with the App module for my Kia Sorento. Both items arrived, one of them via amazon and the other via UPS so I had to wait 3 days.Once this remote starter arrived, I tore apart my vehicle and removed the OEM remote starter that I did have installed. The box was labeled for my correct year, make model and key style. Even the directions in the box were correct for my vehicle. The unit did not want to program and I tried several times. over and over again, and my buddy also tried who was helping me. Since neither of us could get it to program, we called the support number. Now I will say, they called us back after-hours, which was very convenient and I appreciate that. After giving them the serial number, it was found that the unit that was sent to us was programmed for a different vehicle, even though the packaging and directions were labeled for my Kia. SO they had to email me a support ticket, request additional info such as my address, etc. After two days, I reached out to support to check on the status, as I now have my car still ripped apart and the old remote starter sitting in a box. The answer from support was "We have no additional information or tracking info on a replacement unit for you yet." That was 6 days ago, still waiting. I would recommend going with another company such as Accessorides or 12voltpowersolutions.And if you should choose to get this unit with the app module, good luck. There is no directions or provisions for attaching the two units together as "StartX" is not listed as a compatible unit to the app module so you have to ask support on which wiring harness and which programming protocol to use, since it is not obviously labeled.!!!!Update!!! 6 Days later, still have not heard from the seller/mfr. so I did an Amazon return/exchange. Received the replacement unit, same thing. Won’t program and freezes, the exact same as the first one. So they are sending out defective units. I’m returning both this remote starter and the app module. I’m going with another company who won’t screw me over!

3 min installation
I timed the installation, it took me 2 min 52 seconds. The panel is easily accessible under the gas pedal. I read the installation in advance, I got the idea. I am advanced in electrical, maybe that's why it was quick. Worked the first time. Now asked the company how to change the 15 min shut off timer to be 5 min, to save on gas. 5 min should be enough and even if you go out after another 5 min, it should still be warm.

Programing is easy enough to mess up
Install is super easy. For a mechanic that typically won't read the instruction manuals I must say, "Read your programming instructions before starting. They are the last thing in the manual requiring the most attention. YouTube will not help you here."

Almost on first try
Easy to install. Written instructions are a tiny bit confusing and can be better and also the available video can be longer with more programming instructions shown.Almost got it to work on first try, but needed to unplug it again so I can program the unit to my Sorrento. The instructions does not tell you that all the lights will blink and you have to press the program button when the Red led is cycled back from the flashing Blue and Yellow. The longest part of this install is as what everyone else is indicating... The tie down…Tested the unit and works very well. Didn't get a chance to see if it did actually shut off after running for 15mins as gas prices is so high.Only thing I would warn you is that, if you get in the car and shut off the remote starter unit with the brake pedal, your lights will remain on until you remotely lock your car by pressing the lock button on your remote twice, otherwise headlights will remain on for more than 10mins. (At least that is when I decided to turn off my headlights instead of leaving it on Auto.)I'm very pleased with the product and definitely recommend this to other Sorrento owners.

Simple easy and quick
Installed in less than 20 minutes. Bent the security bracket a bit with vice grips connected adapter and followed instructions followed by bending bracket back or close to as it was and zip tie module. 20 minutes and done may have even been faster than that. Works great. Unlock doors either way and push pts button and the computer takes over and doesnt shut off on me unless i press the brake before the pts button. Works great. Looking at carlink for wireless start. 2017 sorento fe
