It’s ok at best…
I’m a knife guy so I can “put up with it.”Because of the shape of the blade it could mistakenly be handled cutting edge up. It could also use a blade lock.It is unique and for a knife guy it’s ok.

Surprisingly high quality
I recently started collecting knives already accumulating a few benchmade, microtech, protech, kershaw, CRKT, opinel, and laguiole. I've been avoiding civivi mainly bc I wanted to support American (and apparently French) companies rather than buying another mass produced Chinese product. When I heard of the ki-v though, and saw the design by Ostap Hel, along with the great price, I knew I had to try it.All I can say is - WOWThe design elements are incredibly thoughtful and the attention to detail is incredible. The build quality is immaculate and the action is smooth as butter especially on the jade (from the black on BHQ as well and it needs a bit more break in due to the coating). What would I change? I love g10 but would obviously prefer a carbon fiber option to lighten it up a bit. And the knife steel is pretty basic -- would have liked to see at least an s30v or preferably an elmax/20cv/s90v, but all that would push this closer to or over $100.Nonetheless, for under 50 bucks this is an INCREDIBLE buy. Pretty sure I'm going to buy at least 4 more as stocking stuffers this year, if they're not sold out by the holidays.

Small but well made
This is my "dress knife"; a lightweight knife that i can clip anywhere so i am never without a blade. The all-black is very classy looking in my opinion. I'm a woman so my hands are smaller but not tiny; i find this knife very easy to hold and use. It's well crafted for the price.

Dangerous very loose slip Joint
I have slip joint knives but this one is the loosest one. Very little pressure needed to close the knife and cut off a finger. Almost happened to me. Was cutting something tough and blade was doing a good job. However when I was removing the knife from what I was cutting, the knife started to close on my finger because the slip joint was not tight at all. I have worked with and collected knives of all types for the last 50 years and this is the only one I did not feel safe with. For the same money you can get a very small knife that flips open and locks into place by the liner. Sent mine back. Just bought 10 knives in one month and this is the only one going back. There are $30 knives that are small and much safer.

Surprisingly awesome.
Bought this for my retail work cutting packaging, ect. Color me impressed Civivi. So far I've purchased this knife and the mini Praxus and im impressed with both. The ki-v is one of the best budget knife options out there, with very little to complain about.Pros-The blade shape. I wasn't convinced on this sort of tanto-edge shape, but it is no slouch. The edge. I don't think I've ever purchased a knife for sub $75 that came shaving sharp from the factory, but this thing shaved the hair right off of my arm easily. No sharpening required out of the box, for me. Your experience may vary depending on who was on the grinder that day at the shop, but mine came razor sharp.Fantastic g10 handle slabs, with good ergonomics. The front flip is a little stiff at first but after 15 minutes of flipping it's smooth as butter.Clip is stiff, which is good.Extremely light, which it should be for a small knife.Cons-This knife does not have a traditional lock. There is a detent where the blade will "lock" when the blade is extended, but a little pressure on the top of the blade will push it out of alignment. Not the biggest deal, especially because you won't be bushcrafting or batoning a knife this small, but it isn't as sturdy as a knife with a liner lock, ect.Pocket clip isn't reversible for tip down carry, again it's a small knife so there isn't really room for it anyways, but I prefer tip down carry. The gimping on the blade isn't really as rough as I'd prefer, my finger can slide over it really easily.Overall, this knife is fantastic, I'd absolutely buy another. I'll be purchasing more Civivi in the future.
