How thick of a shelve do I need it to be? thanks!** A: thickness>1.5 inches. so sorry, we have instruction in the package. we don't have video. **Q: how thick must the shelf be?** A: If you are using solid woods hard woods like maple or oak or walnut, you could, in theory do 1" thick pieces. Keep in mind though your drill hole must be perfectly centered to give equal meat over and under the post.
