Brilliant idea.
Bought this for my plants, because the sun doesn't shine near enough for them in the winter.I've just clipped this to the pot of a big plant and have all the little ones around it. The clip is pretty heavy duty and clamps tight.Then I positioned the lights to shine on them.The timer works perfect just turn it on when you want it to go on, then every time there after it turns on by it self. I choose 9 hours of light. The light can be dimmed and you can change from blue to red to both. Which is full spectrum, the light gives off pinky red which is kinda cool. I'm glad it's not a blaring bright light. The plants seem to like it as they all have new grow on them already. I recommend this to anyone who doesn't get enough sunshine for their plants.

Sturdy and beautiful
The lights are exactly like the photos, the clip to anchor the lights is strong plastic. I haven't found the lights to get warm/hot to the touch and the glow from them is lovely. There's a button to dim/brighten them. The timer is great just set it and forget it. I'm not sure if my plants are enjoying the lights (they've only been on for a few days) but I like them!

Awesome LED growlight setup, for my young daughter =)
*This is a Christmas gift for my daughter. Will update, my review at a later date. But what I can say now is: shipped promptly. Product packaging, is/was...very well designed! Product looks well made, and utilizes quality parts, and materials. =)

Helped my plants during winter
I live in a basement apartment and we were trying to keep some plants alive during the dank days of winter, but things weren't going so well (they were pretty much all dying). Thought we'd try a grow light and, initially, it didn't seem like it worked at all, but after two weeks or so we started to see improvement in our plants. Now they are are doing fantastic and will live to be replanted in the spring! Really pleased with this thing.

A gimmick, at best.
This is not a stand-alone grow light. It may work as a supplement to a regular grow light, or a system that needs to add some light wave length range, but it is not bright enough by itself to support seedling's or house plants.I am very disappointed in it.So I am going back to my big 4 foot fluorescent light, with this as an add-on.I wasted my money.
