Personally, I found this brand of Wax paper to be completely useless.everything stuck to it.you are better off with another brand, or just use Aluminium Foil.

Wax paper is perfect for rolling out dough. Parchment just does not work as well for that. But you do want to line baking sheets with parchment…that’s what it is good for. You can’t use wax paper for that part.

Q: Can this be used to line a dim sum steamer basket?

I don’t line them and I can’t think of a situation where it makes sense to line a steamer because you want the steam to flow through it freely. But technically, yes, you could use this to line steamer baskets. It’s just standard, ordinary waxed paper. If you have a recipe or whatever that calls for you to line your steamers (btw, I’m picturing traditional, bamboo steamers or a metal basket you drop into the top of a deeper pot) I would probably use parchment paper as a first choice and waxed paper as a second option, although they’re largely interchangeable. Some recipes have you create a packet, e.g., you wrap a piece of fish, seasoning, veggies in paper so they cook together. I don’t think of that as a lining, but if that’s what you mean I use parchment paper, but I think waxed paper would work ok.
