Powerful fan
I live in an apartment with no ceiling fans in a very hot climate. When I first moved in about 5 years ago I bought a couple decent basic oscillating fans for the bedroom and living room. Due to high and frequent usage, the one in the bedroom is finally dying out. I saw this one and read a majority of the reviews as it appeals to all my needs. It arrived in proper packaging earlier than expected. It was fairly easy to build despite a little confusion with the manual. It works fantastic and I'm thoroughly happy with this purchase and will definitely buy again whenever needed. The remote does everything you need it to, this is especially handy in early cold mornings when you just can't bring yourself out of the bed. The timer feature is fantastic and helps with the same reason mentioned previously. It is currently winter but I still like to use my fan because I can't exist in a room without circulating air as I get hot easily. I can already tell that the lowest level power is even higher than the highest level of my old fan. Because of this I am thrilled to use this fan in the extreme heat during the summer. It isn't very loud, I haven't had need for the special wind features yet but they do work well. This is a powerful, unique, and long lasting fan (from what I can tell so far!). Highly recommend it!

Working great for me!
I'm really happy with this fan. Took maybe 10 mins to assemble and it moves PLENTY of air! I usually have my fan set to wide open, but Med speed is perfect with this one, from about 12-14 ft away. I stay hot all the time and have to have a fan on to sleep, for both the air and some sound. I can't sleep if I'm hot or in total silence, so I've always ran a fan yr round and I've had more than a few. This one is probably the best one I've ever had. It's really quiet considering how much air it moves, and it seems to oscillate further than most fans...it goes all the way from one side completely over to the other, like 180 degrees. The breeze modes are also kinda neat, although I prefer a steady sound and breeze while I sleep. And one thing's for sure, you won't ever have to worry about it tipping over...unless there's a natural disaster of some kind. The base prob weighs about 10 lbs. By far the most stable fan I've ever seen. So overall, there's nothing negative I can really say about it. It's WELL worth the $39.99 I paid for it and would prob order another one if they were in stock right now, and the price hadn't almost doubled for some strange reason??? But when it does get back to the normal price, don't hesitate if you want a really good fan.

Can't go wrong
I don't always write my opinion, but when I feel it can help someone, I do. I was looking for a fan for the living room, where I didn't have to turn up the TV to hear it and not too expensive. I had another in mind that was $100, just couldn't get into spending that much for a fan. I am lazy, was looking for one with a remote control. I have not used the sleep mode, at least I don't think so, need to read my instructions. You know when your husband is pleased with it, you know you made the right choice. We have even left the fan on, not realizing, that it was on after turning off the TV. This fan is smooth, quite, looks nice and remote. Unless you get a lemon, this is the fan that you need, no questions ask. We are both very happy that we have this fan. I can not tell you just how much. I, for once, made a great decision. Oh, I almost forgot, since it's so quiet. It also cools fantastically on 1 and we sit like in an L-shape, and it gets both of us.

Excellent fan EXCEPT grille installation...
This is a 5 star fan with the exception of two issues, which is why I docked a star. The grille designer should be publicly flogged. Repeatedly. There is no way it should be this difficult to install. The light on it is also annoying, but fixable with a piece of masking tape over it. We've had the fan for almost a year, and after cleaning/reassembling it, I decided a review is in order. We sleep with a fan nightly. This one replaced a 20 year old Lasko that finally bit the dust. And considering we were never going to be that lucky getting another Lasko to last that long, we started looking for alternatives. This fan fit the bill, and the remote is a huge bonus. It's quieter than most pedestal fans, moves air well, and is very sturdy. Now for the issue with the grille. There is a SMALL nut that you use with the screw that holds the band around the front & back grille. THIS IS IMPORTANT. God help you if you lose it, because your job just got moved to the impossible category. Go to Walmart and buy zip ties as another reviewer suggested. If you didn't lose the nut, your next trick will be to take the band with the screw/nut started and pop the front grille into the first groove. Adjust the screw to hold it while you do the next step. (Now would be a good time to start offering prayers.)With both feet firmly planted on the ground and children out of earshot range, carefully perform your first attempt at popping the back grille into the back slot of the band, holding it in place whilst attempting to tighten the screw/nut combination. When this fails, lay the fan on the bed and attempt to position again. You might consider calling in assistance from your significant other after these attempts fail, because who doesn't love sharing their misery. When the back finally does pop into the groove, hold your breath as you tighten the screw. I am convinced the mere act of breathing causes it to fall off.If you are one of the more capable persons who achieved this on first try, I offer my sincerest congratulations. However, just remember you do have to take it apart to clean at some point. You can refer back to this review when you do. I had no trouble the first go around, but tonight showed me the arrogance of my ways.Simple clips would be so much more efficient and easier on the blood pressure.
