Excellent quality Dutch oven. Pre-seasoned and holds the heat quite evenly. I used this thrice already since it was shipped to me last week. The past two days, I have been baking rustic Italian country bread, "Pagnotta." All turned out right, crusty (crispy) and the bread dough inside is just fabulous, soft and almost moist- fresh from this Dutch oven (and baked inside my gas oven)!I am happy about this purchase. Am glad I did it!I was a little but skeptical at first because this was a newly featured item in Amazon last week and there was no review yet. So, I played it by ears. Likewise, I was glued with product design, craftsmanship, and the details written in the item description. They fitted right to me expectations.The large size of this cast iron enables my bread to expand to the maxim, giving it a great round shape for a country bread. And super fabulous for a rustic bread. Impressive to the core! This product came as well with the pot holder which was a bonus!By comparison, the Lodge brand I bought two years ago is poor in quality. Iron World is superb! My two cast iron Lodge brand rusted in less than three months after purchase. I kept them hidden in my cupboard for a while then I decided to dump them in to the bin. I felt sorry for the money wasted on those items. Hard earned money!Well, it took me quite a long time again to find the real one, and this is it!This is an excellent product and would recommend this for others who are looking for "the wow factor" in cast iron units. This is just amazingly impressive and does the work as expected.

If you lust after crusty bread, this pot is for you. It is well made, well seasoned, and free of extraneous flavors. It is the right size for a standard round loaf of sourdough or other artisan bread doughs. I had previously baked this bread in a 6-qt. cast iron dutch oven. The larger size allowed the dough to spread too much and did not produce the desired level of heat. This pot heats evenly and cleans easily, too. I debated about rating the purchase one notch lower, because getting the promised free gifts took more effort than it should have, but the pot is too good to penalize. Add it to your bakeware and enjoy. It's a very good value.

I love cast iron pots/pans. Made some rustic bread in this the first day I got it. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that I did not get the recipe book. Not a big deal but don't advertise it and then not send it.

I now have lovely crusty loaves of bread. The product is as expected, though I too, never was able to get the little grille insert.

Love that I also can use a Cast Iron pot on my induction cook top. This way I can use it also as a slow cooker or fast cooker, really for everything. Mostly I bought it to bake bread of course in the oven, for a great crust.

Love this iron cast. It’s very heavy duty material. I bake a lot of stuff with it.

Use to have one and loved it. Miss using it and am so happy I now have another. It is great for soups, pot roast, roast chicken or pork and I love it for chili. Great for camp cooking, you can do a complete meal in it, also good for cake and biscuits.
