Flame by Aleatha Romig literally set my heart and soul on fire. This tight knit, brilliantly executed and sensational suspenseful creation took me right into centre of Patrick and Madeline's stormy journey. This story literally had everything. Mystery. Sensuality. Danger. Violence. Above all an amazing storyline paired with awe inspiring writing.So Madeline has dropped the nuclear bomb in middle of the chaos of the high stake poker game getting hijacked by her husband and the powerful outfit Sparrows' part, Patrick. That they have a daughter and she is in danger from The Bratva. So starts a cat and mouse game where Patrick is still fighting to trust Madeline who left him years back and Madeline is trying to save her only priority Ruby while trying to work on her relationship. This is a traitorous road full of old ugly memories and deceptions.Madeline's character is one of the most inspiring and strong character I have ever read. I felt like throwing up while reading about the trauma she endured and the trial she is still going through. The writing is that much impactful! This story concentrated on Madeline's past a lot as it holds answers to some questions in her present life. Patrick once again became her pillar of strength. He has a lot to process. He had to take tough decisions while trying to protect his family and being loyal to his Sparrow family. And he showed immense maturity and tenacity in face of everything. I felt a lot more in love with their story as I felt all the injustice and suffering. And I cannot wait to see them taking revenge on all those vile, evil and insufferable monster. Their bond is stronger than ever and they still have the scorching hot chemistry and longing! The beyond complex storyline won't let you take a breather as the things will keep happening at a surprisingly fast pace.Flame by Aleatha Roming is the perfect beginng to what I hope to be a fitting ending to Madeline and Patrick's story. This story has my poor heart in it's dark, angsty, sultry and mysterious fingers.Received ARC for honest review

After the cliff-hanger from book 1, I was eagerly waiting to see how the story of Madeline and Patrick would turn out. Needless to say, it was a roller coaster ride of emotions. Story picks up exactly where book 1 ended. Story toggles between the few chapters of Past and present. We never got to know the back story between Madeline and Patrick in book1, here we get the reasons for their separation.Madeline’s separation from Patrick and the things she went through to survive was gut wrenching.  It’s truly tragic.   We see a glimpse of how she lived 17 years ago and what has led her to where she is now. We also see a side of Patrick that is commanding as he should be but also extremely caring and protective. Now they both have lots of questions and trust issues because of who they are today? Will they trust each other enough to focus on the main issue of their daughter? The focus of this story in the present is the search for Ruby, she seems to be used as a pawn by multiple players. The entire book revolves around Ruby and the measures each person takes to get hold of her.After midpoint, story becomes more of a thrill ride. Plot moves in an extremely fast pace. All secondary charters are awesome. We get to see more of Mason, Sparrow and Reid in this. I was hoping to see more of Ruby, but some how we get to know about her from Madeline and Patrick POV. She plays an extremely important role yet, I felt she was sort of side-tracked in this. Maybe we get to see her more in the next book.This book reveals more secrets and lies and answers to some questions from book1 but also creates so many more questions that I am hoping are answered in the last book. The secrets, the lies, the battles, and then the truth. As expected, the author leaves us with another dozy of a cliffhanger that is sure to change everything.

What an apt title for the second book in this particular series. It’s exactly what your eyes, brain and thoughts become when reading this excellent novel. We start book two exactly where the cliffhanger left us. The storyline is really dark and a lot of the information is very disturbing, but obviously well researched, and sympathetically written. A rainbow and unicorn tale this is not. We learn an awful lot about Madeline’s past, and how she became separated from Patrick. It is a point we’re the tissues need to be at the ready. The story as ever flows well. Is truly descriptive and beautifully edited. We go back in the past with Madeline and learn the hardship and dreadful happenings that occurred to her 17 years ago. There is drama a plenty. Intricate detail , with twist turns, double crossing and despicable characters that make your skin crawl. Patrick as ever remains strong dominant a totally reliable. The chemistry between Maddie and him is sizzling. The ending is one of mouth gapping proportions and totally unpredictable. As ever once you have started a book by this incredible author you cannot put it down. This is not a stand-alone but it is mind blowing. Book three is a wait but it will take that long to come down of the literal high, from reading such an experiencing book.

Wow! This series gets better and better! It's the first book in ages that I've started and finished it on the same day! It had me hooked! There were twists throughout as is usual with Aleatha's books, it keeps you on the edge of your seat just wanting to find out more! I love reading about all these characters in this while Sparrow world.. they really do keep you interested!Towards the end I'd just about guessed regarding parentage to Madeline but when I got to the end I was still shocked... and annoyed I've got to wait for the last book! LolRoll on Ashes because I absolutely can't wait to read what happens in the rest of Patrick and Madeleine's story!!

Wow! This sexy and thrilling series just took a turn I didn't see coming at all. This part of the trilogy is much faster paced and it reveals so much more about our heroine's past and we see just how much she has been through since she was separated from Patrick. I can't say much more without giving away any juicy details. But if you've started this series keep going and you won't be disappointed.

Once again a fantastic book by Aleatha! I would give th this book 10 stars if I could! The story continues straight from the huge cliffhanger in the 1st book and weaves its way to yet another bomb shell, I didn't see it coming cliffhanger! I cannot wait for the 3rd book! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
