No Limits (The Ultimate Novels Book 1)

An excellent story, tho a little slow at times. After reading all the 'Love Undercover' series it followed I should read 'No Limits'. In fact, I highly recommend reading at the very least 'Dash of Peril' before reading this story. 'No Limits' would be difficult to full understand without it.It was good to catch up with Cannon & Yvette & a snap shot of Rowdy, Margaret & Dash. I appreciated the spot light of how Yvette's past was still impacting her and how she was dealing with the fallout. I have to say this story really sets up the rest of the 'Ultimate' series.Jim Frangione did a fantastic job as always.

But Cannon will do anything to keep her safe and by his side even if it means shielding her with his own life.This book was really good and engaging. It had enough action and drama but not so much you drowned in it which was great. The fights were described in a way that made me feel like I was there watching it live. It was awesome the way all the guys accepted and cared for Yvette from the beginning. It was nice to see that even after all she went through in her past and even being scared, she still held strong in the face of danger. There was so much hotness around I don't know how anyone got anything done around the Center, I know I wouldn't be able to. In all seriousness I loved all the guys but most of all Armie, there's just something about him I can't help but love. He was such a sweetheart even when you wanted to throttle him. I can't wait to read more about him, his past story and what he's been dragging all these years. Of course I also want to read about the rest of the guys!The only things I didn't like was that there was no real mention of Gage and Harper in the story. He was mentioned in passing but wasn't around when he's in fact part of the group. That was a little disappointing since I'm hoping to read more about all of them in every book of the series. Also Cannon and Yvette don't really have sex until about 80% of the story. Don't get me wrong their chemistry was sizzling from the start and there's enough HOT foreplay to keep you going but I was surprised the book was almost done by the time they got around to it. I understand why and it goes with the story but even then I feel like it could've been a bit sooner since Yvette was ready. Even with those things the book was awesome! Those are more my personal preference and it didn't really take away from the story; hence the 5 stars. Enjoy!

I loved Cannon and Yvette in Getting Rowdy and was v.happy when I found out that they would be getting their own book!Three years ago, Cannon saved Yvette and her Grandfather from kidnappers. Yvette has always had a crush on Cannon but, feeling that Yvette was too young and vulnerable at the time, Cannon walked away. Yvette naturally assumed that Cannon did not reciprocate her feelings, but Cannon has never forgotten about her. Yvette is now back in town as Grandfather has passed away, and he has (rather deviously!) left his house and business to Cannon and Yvette jointly - this is definitely a case of matchmaking from beyond the grave! The Will provides Cannon with the opportunity to show Yvette that he has feelings for her and prove that he is the man for her. Yvette, on the other hand, although her feelings towards Cannon have not changed, is determined to prove that she is no longer a damsel in distress and can fix her own problems.Cannon is a sweet and sexy male lead who also has a dangerous edge; this especially comes out when Yvette has problems with her ex-boyfriend. Yvette has her fair share if insecurities, but she is still a sweet and likable character and is the perfect match for Cannon. The love between the two leads leaps off the page and I really enjoyed their chemistry. They definitely heat things up between the sheets too!No Limits also introduces us to Armie, Stack and Denver; three other fighters who are great characters in their own right. We also meet the three lovely ladies that are set to bring these men to their knees - Merissa, Vanity and Cherry. Characters from Lori Foster's Love Undercover series make an appearance too, we get to catch up with Rowdy, Dash, Logan and Reese.No Limits is a great contemporary romance and I highly recommend it. I will definitely be following the Ultimate series and Denver and Cherry are up next.

this is the first book in Lori Fosters 'Ultimate' series. this is Cannon's story whom readers of lori foster's 'Love undercover' series may remember (he helped stop the baddies, protected the neighbourhood and worked at rowdy's bar) now he's grown up and has started a career in SBC fighting. the heroine just happens to be the girl he helped save from the other series. its was great to see that Cannon had indeed continued friendships with characters from the other books and to hear about how previous characters were getting on. nevertheless, you do NOT have to have read any of lori fosters other books to enjoy this one.its a nice story, not as gritty as some of her other books, but it is only the first in the series, which I find is not always the best, but does however set the scene and pave the way for following instalments.the characterisation is very good and the secondary characters were very appealing (especially Armie!) and promise good things to come from this series.the next book in this series is 'Holding Strong' (Denver's story).series order:0.5 hard knocks (Kindle novella)1. no limits2. holding strong3. tough love

I actually read the third book (Tough Love) first and then decided to start at the beginning (as you do.) At the time of writing this review I have now read all 3 books, and this book is my favorite so far.Cannon is a Saint, in more ways than one. He has always been there for Yvette whenever she needed him. As soon as she reappears in his life he steps up and never lets her down. And I just loved him for it.Yvette is a woman on a mission - she's out to prove that she is not damaged by her past and that she is a strong, independent woman who doesn't need Cannon to swoop in and save her all the time. Yvette has been in love with him for years though she doesn't realise that Cannon has never forgotten her. With his help, she is finally able to leave the past in the past.This book contained all my favorite ingredients - compelling characters, angst, longing, betrayal, hurt, revenge, suspense, intrigue, swoony romance and redemption. I loved it in its entirety and I'd highly recommend it.

This is my first book by Lori Foster and I really enjoyed it. Cannon and Yvette are so sweet together. A huge life changing altercation bought them together 3 years ago and a family death unites them back together now. A sweet romantic story of a couple who can have it all if they can get past the past and learn to let go of old deamon's that threaten the future.

After reading Lori Foster's Undercover series in which you first meet Cannon I was really looking forward to his story (book 1 of the Ultimate series) . This book just got better and better with each page that I read, Cannon is such a great character; a genuine good guy, noble, kind and never dull. Yvette is also very interesting, you can't help but admire her bravery, she is both vulnerable and strong and the chemistry between them is very believable. What I really loved about this book was the laugh out loud humour, the camaraderie between the fighters is brilliantly written. After only the first book Cannon's friend Armie is already a favourite, he is absolutely hilarious, can't wait for his story. Enjoyed this book immensely and I will definitely be reading the next book in the series
