Intensely intimate: a compelling read
Bittersweet is an intensely intimate and enlightening exploration of the power of sorrow and longing to make us whole. I defy anyone not to want to read on, having experienced the prelude, the cellist of Sarajevo. Starting from the intense pleasure of music in minor keys, and passion for creation which transcends the brutal destruction of war, the reader is taken by the hand through conversations, ideas and experiences which all enhance understanding and provoke questions. This book unlocks ideas which have been lurking quietly below the surface. The bittersweet state of mind; poignant, healing, and above all, enlightening

Articulates the ineffable
So much of this book addresses the ineffable, the ephemeral essence of emotions that are both exquisite and heart rending at the same time, that it’s a wonder that there’s any coherent message. To do so in such a lucid, engaging and enlightening way is remarkable. Necessary reading for anyone with a bittersweet disposition. The question, “what are you longing for?” will haunt me for some time.

Do not buy second hand!
Absolutely shocking quality - it said the product was in used but good condition. I would say this is in poor condition. Will be requesting refund.

Not as good as Quiet
In comparison to Susan's masterpiece work 'Quiet', this is no where near the mark..

Sorrow and longing
The book gives a understanding of sorrow and longing and also various possible solutions to come out of them .... but if one wants to feel emotional they also can read it .... it is well written but just too much about the author
