The Basket Lady Drop-in Wicker Rectangular Trash Basket with Metal Liner, 20 in L x 13 in W x 24 in H, Sandstone

People seem to be complaining a bit about the thin metal receptacle within this very well made basket. That really shouldn't be a problem, I believe. I line it with a 30 gallon recycle-type plastic bag, and VOILA'! Drop in your clean milk containers, cans, small cardboard pieces, and any other smaller items right through the hole in the top to save time! And if items are too large to drop through, the very handy leather strap makes for easy access to drop other, larger items inside.This is a handsome basket. We have NO OTHER place to handle recycling than right beside the buffet in our dining room! UGH! This basket happens to fit beautifully beneath one of the lifted arms of the server and due to the basket's darker color, it kind of disappears under the mahogany server. It's a pretty "classy" dining room and this basket doesn't seem to distract from its beauty too much!Most of all, this is a pretty basket. Not only can it be used for recycling when you are in an area that doesn't insist upon division of the types of recycling, but it would make a good, dirty laundry basket, minding the really delicate items if you stick them through the convenient hole.I am PROUD that I searched and searched and searched for a reasonable solution and FOUND this basket! I wouldn't really recommend it for kitchen waste disposal because of the common wetness of so much of what we dispose and the wicker, I guess could wear in a bad way. But for recycling? THIS may just be your answer! It sure beats the large "Charmin" toilet tissue cardboard box we were using!!!! Look again. Measure where you might put it. Fast delivery and well made and very attractive. WELL DONE, YOU! As well, this company makes a wide variety of other baskets worth looking into with a search of their name, "The Basket Lady." This trash can is not only beautiful, it is sturdy. I replaced my old one with this one, only this one matches my decor. It’s a beauty and I know that I’ll get many years out of it. I especially love the metal liner inside (although I line it with a plastic trash bag).

No complaints! I knew when I purchased this that I was mostly paying for the aesthetic, but I’m also beyond pleased with its sturdiness and function. It’s a brick house of a garbage can. I think my favorite thing about it is the lid with the small pass through hole. You can toss stuff away, hands-free, but you also don’t have to look at the contents of the garbage can every time you pass by. Win-win! This is a larger garbage can than you might expect, so make sure to measure your space. This isn’t a garbage can for a small bathroom or cramped area. I couldn’t be more pleased-highly recommended.

This is the most perfect trash container I've ever had. I feel I should have gotten one years ago!It's a very versatile trash container - I can drop small trash through the hole, and lift the lid for larger trash. It's easy to remove the 30 Gal trash bag when it's full, and the metal sleeve can be removed for washing. Also, it looks great in the kitchen. I highly recommend this container; well worth the money.

Built sturdy & functional

the whole wicker basket itself is beautiful, works very well w/having the hole in the center to slide the trash into it, but that thin noisy metal piece is horrible, i take it out in order to pull the trash bag out, what a loud noise it makes.. and it stated that it holds a 13 gallon trash bag, well, it does but only the ones that have those 4 ties on them, i like the stretchy bags w/the tie that you can pull and close up after using, there is no way to get that stretchy bag onto that metal piece to fit... so i am not happy about having to use those other bags, i find that i'm only filling those other bags 1/2 - 3/4 full in order to get it out, stuff the items down (w/no stretch to it), then struggle to tie up the bag... the basket is adorable, the whole idea is great, just the metal inside and the fact of the trash bags ..

I have been using a makeshift clothes hamper as a trash basket for quite a while but needed something sturdier and made for trash but I also wanted it too look nice. This trash basket is nicely made and works so well. The hamper I used did not have an inner container but this has a separate metal container that makes it so much easier.
