These pieces are worth the money spent. Weighted, well proportioned, wood Staunton design, with a 3.5 inch king height, goes well with a 2.0 - 2.125 inch squares board, and meets tournament size standards. 2 extra queens are included for pawn promotions. I would rate these pieces 4.5/5 with a small quibble on the Queens dimensions. If the height were +1/8 inch and its base diameter +1/16 inch would be ideal, a 5/5. I would recomend a Solh board w/ 2.125 inch squares, that is currently available from Amazon for $59.99 USD. The pieces and board pair well.The Solh wood board I recomended seems to have a number of negative reviews regarding its quality. The quality of the board I recieved was very good and I have no compliants.

Just what I was looking for!
These wooden chess pieces are modeled after the 1854 Walter Grimshaw set. The King stands at 3.5 inches, while the Queen is somewhat shorter. The Knight is particularly striking, featuring a well-crafted design with a dropped jaw. The pieces are well-proportioned to my wooden board, which has 2.25-inch squares, and their weight is ideal due to the wide bases. The white pieces have an antique, mustard-like color, adding a unique character reminiscent of the golden age of chess.The set also includes an extra Queen for both sides, although this was not mentioned in the description. Everything arrived in excellent condition and on the expected delivery date.I am thrilled with this purchase. ♟️♟️♟️♟️♟️
