Easy to install. This lock must have been returned bc all the parts were not in the box. Had to go to lock smith to get a piece.

Up until recently, I had a deadbolt and a handle on our door that were both brushed nickel and both can be operated with keys. Since I replaced the handle with https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08Y8QTN7T I was looking for something for the deadbolt and this fit perfectly. I did not want the previous one because it was brushed nickel and the new handle was black and the door had a hole for a deadbolt so I needed something.This lock matches perfectly with the handle and allows us to lock the door from the inside temporarily.

Our new house had a door to the back deck from the master bedroom. That’s nice, but wasn’t really somewhere we needed someone to be able to enter through, even with a key. (The door to the kitchen/living room was 20’ closer to where someone would walk up from.) This removed a simple access point that a burglar could have tried to use to access the home and still lets us use the door for some quiet morning sun.My one and only complaint is that the solid cover plate is neither hardened nor rounded or angled at all. Something like that would make it hard to drill into the lock. As it is, a quick whack with a hammer is going to automatically center the dent right above the bolt actuator, making it easy to drill and then open the bolt manually from the outside. If I were more concerned about thieves I’d look for another brand, but for someone dedicated enough to use a hammer there’s easier ways to get into a house, so I’m ok with this on my exterior door for now.

I am in the process of changing out all my door hardware, but trying to keep the same key mechanisms. I only needed the actual knob side and this worked perfectly. Installation is super easy!

Its exactly what I wanted. We never, ever use a key on the kitchen door, and any scenario where you would need a key is highly unlikely. You can always go around to the front or go through the garage.There's a lot of free play on the bolt. I understand why this was done. Not everyone is a carpenter and without free play, it might not line up with their existing latch plate. Then they would complain and return it.I actually set the latch plate myself. That free play makes it feel like poor construction, flopping in the breeze.

This product is great for doors where you need extra security, no lock is 100% BUT this is sure to either discourage a criminal or at least buy yourself time before they get in, I'd imagine they'd have to drill it out or just bust the doorway with a crowbar. The lock cannot be picked or bumped. One thing I've learned is, no matter the security you have - if a perpetrator wants something they'll eventually succeed unless you to follow proper steps in protecting yourself. The idea here is to slow down (and hopefully prevent) a home invasion.

I need this for the garage door so I thought to save a few bucks and try the open box option. It turned out to be a bad idea. Bent screw threads, scratched turn lock (yes, that’s cosmetic) and VERY stripped screw heads made this a waste of my time.ALSO the turn lock side seems a bit light. I will be returning this one.
