Doesn't work.
Supposedly when it works the red light will illuminate. If it doesn't you can try swapping your wires around. I don't understand why they tell you to try wiring it up to the screw marked line 2.I noticed one of the screws is stripped out in the plastic and just spins around so it's not going to make a good electrical connection. It turns out two of the screws are short and one of them is long. It's the one of the short screws that spins around. The phone I purchased is from Oldphoneworks and has a new modular cord. Connecting to this product screws ended up being a challenge.Nothing worked for me. I got dial tone but it would never dialed the phone and it would never send out tones. My VOIP phone service is provided by Ooma.Unfortunately I trusted this company and I tried it too late to send it back and so I'm stuck with trash from this company.

Works great!
Works great with my old phone rotary phone. Most rotary phones can still receive calls without an adapter but can't make calls as the new phone networks don't recognize the signal the rotary dial makes. This adapter solves that issue. In addition, because it can receive calls without the adapter, I compared the audio quality without and with the adapter between the wire, and there was no noticeable difference.

Did not work!
I finally got around to hooking this up, unfortunately beyond the return date, but I could not get it to work. I connected the unit's wires as shown in the photos but to no avail. I got a dial tone either way I connected them but it would not dial a number. I have Xfinity VOIP phone service if that helps. It could be the problem. I will give it the benefit of the doubt.

Worked Pefect with my AT&T cellular home base WF720
The media could not be loaded. The phone in my garage is a old rotary phone and has been hanging on the wall in my garage for over 40 years and this unit worked my phone perfect, I'm very pleased to have that old phone working again with that old familiar bell ringing was just as loud as I remember. What I did was connected the green wire of my phone to the screw at lower right corner that says P1, and I connected the red wire of the phone to the screw with the red wire that says L2 that's it.If the red led don't lite when you pick up the phone switch the red and green phone wires around not the green and red wires connected to the screws on the converter box. if your phone don't have the green and red wires just connect the wires switching them until the red led lights up when you pick up the phoneI have a $20 AT&T WF720 cellular home base from eBay

Does not work, even know I am seeing the red light and it is indicating its working.
Unfortunately it does not work. I get the red light and dial tone, but when dialing nothing happens. I am using Ooma as a provider.

Does not work with Ooma Telo
I tried to used this with my 1950s Western Electric model 500 C/D I was able to get the dial tone and the red light came on when I took the receiver off the hook, but it did not dial the pulses to tone and I was not able to get it to dial out successfully. I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt and maybe it was broken or not compatible with my system with 2 stars. For how expensive it was I expected it to work…

DO NOT BUY THESE
My fellow Americans:You will wait weeks and weeks to get this junk from overseas that doesn’t work.Get DialGizmo if you want to connect an old antique rotary telephone to your free internet phone like Google Voice. You will need one DialGizmo, it’s a pulse to tone converter, for each old antique rotary phone you want to connect to your internet phone. It is quick and painless. It will cost you a lot more but it’s not wasted.Do not waste your time and money on this junk. It is a long painful process to connect this junk that doesn’t work. Once in awhile a light will blink red for a couple of seconds. You have those 4 seconds to rotary dial a telephone number. I couldn’t beat this clock and yes I was idiot enough to keep trying. Don’t just don’t buy this. Don’t try it and definitely don’t keep trying it like this dummy.

Not what I needed
I was able to install the device correctly, however, Magic Jack doesn't provide enough power to generate the DTMF. It might work for a standard landline. It works exactly as designed.
