Edgy story
I gave this book four stars, but I was waffling about what to rate it. However, I liked the premise of the story, and I was glued. The Hero was a really sweet man. The heroine was so frustratingly naive, and she didn't have any depth other than the musical talent. She was just so idiotic at times. Thank the goddess the author finally injected a detective who set her straight on a point or two. I think the author put Drake and Maggie to bed too quickly. Most of the chapters are short.

Romantic reader
Absolutely loved this book. Had me at the edge of my seat. Had me at the edge of my seat with all the twists and turns. I am looking forward to reading more of this author's work. Definitely would recommend.

Action
It's hard to imagine someone wanting to control another, especially with violence! I don't know enough about the subject other than to say it's horribly wrong and so very sad. The only real drawback to the story was the incessant graphic sex! Once would have been enough with innuendos for the rest of it. Does the author think her readers are so stupid that we don't understand the main characters have the hots for each other? More depth to the story, less graphic sex scenes would be better.

Loved this M. S. Parker Book
What a wonderful romance by M. S. Parker. Great storyline, well written and swoon worthy! Drake has been living a a lonely life since losing his wife and unborn child in an auto accident 15 years ago. He’s 44 and working to take over his uncle’s investment firm. He encounters Maggie, a 27 year old woman, and an amazing violinist in the Philharmonic Symphony. She’s in an abusive relationship with her 33 year old boy friend, who is also a member of the Philharmonic. Maggie bears a remarkable likeness to Drake’s late wife, and he is drawn to finding out who she is because she suspects the abuse she is receiving. Drake hires a private investigator who locates Maggie and thus begins a near stalking experience by Drake. Drakes uncle fears things have gone too far when he sees Maggie but as Drake explains, her likeness to his wife’s beauty is what drew him in, but there personalities differentiate them. Thankfully, Drake is there to save Maggie from harm when her boy friend is enraged by Drake’s attention to her, which opens Maggie’s relatives and Drake to vandalism and injuries to Maggie, which lead to her severing ties with her boy friend. Maggie and Drake develop a sexual relationship and he has her move in with him until her brother’s apartment is ready for her to move in. She feels safe and secure with Drake until she encounters a portrait of Drake with is late wife and realizes his obsession with her stems from the likeness between the two women. It’s an intriguing, emotional love story that had me falling in love with the hero and heroine and had me wiping tears as these two work toward their HEA.

Too Much Emphasis On Sex
No, I am not a prude.. First, this author has adopted the style of one chapter dedicated to one character and the other chapter for the next the other character, which is somewhat puzzling as I think narrative is weakened; but what was distracting was a battered woman who had been brutally treated physically and sexually seeking comfort through sex with a relative stranger who apparently didn’t have the forethought to think about stranger’s behavior. That might happen but it wasn’t explained how it would be healing next that set up a precedent where the author dedicated, about five pages on my kindle reader on my phone, sexual discussion. I ask how many times do you need your heroine to go down on a man or how many times (even after he has been stabbed) does the hero have to eat her out or does the author have to use the sexual scenes as a filler to avoid character development. This is my first book of MS Parker’s collection and the focus on sex soon became boring and unimaginative. In sum if this author wants to be known as a purveyor of sex, that goal has been met.

Short, scary and Sweet
Drake still mourns the loss of his wife and child 16 years after the accident that took them and is happiness away. He moved from Scotland to America in an effort to heal and start over. Now he is about to take over the lead in his Uncle’s financial business. Every year on the anniversary of meeting his late wife he goes to the same restaurant where they met. He isn’t a believer in signs, omens or ghosts. He believes in hard work, dedication and….memories. As he nears the end of his meals and glances around he notices a woman..the hair, the profile her skin tone. Suddenly he can’t breathe, his head is pounding, hands are shaking…it’s her….his Belle.Maggie is out to dinner with her boyfriend of 3 years. Maybe this time will be different. Maybe this time he won’t get angry and the evening will be better than before. Maybe. She doesn’t look at anyone but him or it will not bode well for her when they get back to their shared apartment. They work well together at the philharmonic, why can’t they be like that at home. She has dreams that one day things will be different…Someday.Their story is sad, painful scary and sweet.

Love love loved it
This is the first book I've read of this author and I cannot wait to read another one. Previously, I'd been reading alot of fantasy romance with scary alpha males who were often moody and aggressive. I loved how the author wrote Drake's character in this story. He has the perfect combination of being gentle and kind but still masculine and confident as well. It's a sexy combination and I really enjoyed seeing his love for Maggie unfold. Definitely recommend

I don’t feel for the heroine
It would’ve been good if not for the heroine, I mean she’s just so pathetic and a total doormat. One of the stupidest character I have read in a book. She is more concerned of what people will say about her than standing up for herself. What a disappointment, her and her family are influential the hero has means too but no one ever thought of hiring a security even after all the aggressions-come on!
