Very useful and effective
With a broken wrist in a cast, showering was a challenge. A plastic bag tied above the elbow, and the affected arm held straight up, kept the water out while someone else did all the work. But this product was easier to use and the arm did not have to be held high. If the rubber seal is tight around your arm it will keep even a direct spray out. Do not hesitate to cut the hole larger if needed. Small scissors easily do the job. Trimming 1/4" makes a huge difference - do it in stages so as to not take off too much. Does not have to be a perfect circle, but try to avoid creating sharp corners that might turn into tears. Having a helper hold-stretch the hole wide open while you push the cast in helps also. Sorry about your arm.

I want you to read this review, because I have some tips on how to slide in and out the glove protector, easily and carefully.
I bought this cast protector for my mother, whom unfortunately fell and broke a small bone in her hand. She is a senior, and she was a little afraid about using the glove (best way to described is a full arm glove); she was concern that somehow would it hurt her, while sliding it up her arm. Her fingers were swollen, and she had some pain. The first issue was lubrication, how to slide the narrow rubber seal over her fingers and her arm.I found at home a hand sanitizer “Assured” brand, that it’s clear, and it’s like a gelatin with alcohol. When I applied in my hands I realized that it can lubricate for few second before it totally evaporates. It does not leave any grease residue, and since it evaporates there is not risk of wetting the inside of the cast, and also it kills bacteria so there are no chances that if some of it slide into the cast, that could create a problem later on.So I lubricated the ring and her fingers, and I was able to slide it over her fingers with minimum discomfort for her.I slided the glove over the cast almost to the end (towards her elbow), and I proceeded to lubricate the rubber ring (the previous application already had evaporated), I lubricated forearm, elbow, and a little of her upper arm. Then I was able to slide the full arm glove over her forearm, and then I moved slightly backward to make sure the seal was in the correct position. For a senior lady the seal was tight, but is to be used only for few minutes while taking a shower. Once it was on she felt confident. Before I tell you about the removal process I have to explain a bit about her injury. She needed a minor surgery that required the installation of metal pins that go from the outside of her hands towards the bone, and that is what holds the bone in place while it heals. That means that the pins are exposed inside the cast (of course there is some bandages covering the pins), but the issue is that the cast cannot move or slide out a bit, because it may pull the pins.To remove the glove arm protector from her arm, the narrow seal will push out against the cast. I highly recommend two people to help in the removal. The person with the cast should be standing (if possible), and with their arm straight down, so it locks. The helper #1 should seat and hold the forearm cast and glove sleeve, firmly in place. The other helper #2 should lubricate the seal ring and arm. The #2 helper will slide the ring down over the arm, and rest it over the cast while # 1 helper is holding the cast and arm firmly so the motion of the ring does not push out the cast from the arm; lubricate again the ring so it will slide easy over the fingers. The second time that we help her putting the glove sleeve, she was confident, and not afraid. It is important pay attention to this details, it is not easy for someone that had been injured to let other to manipulate an injured armThe product is very good, it seals perfectly without any issues.I hope that you like the review and tips, if you have any questions let me know, I will gladly do my best to answer your question.

Tight Fit
I needed assistance to get this sleeve over my splint. The stretchy part fits VERY tightly on the arm; it is more comfortable to move it closer to the elbow (vs. shoulder), but despite that, it felt like circulation was beginning to be cut off by the end of my shower. If your arms are the least bit fleshy, this will be very uncomfortable. The "mitten" at the hand end of the device is useless. Even though I bought the "short" length, the device was quite a bit longer than I needed. In summary, it performed as needed by sealing tight against water, but it's quite uncomfortable. One wouldn't use it other than for medical necessity, I'm sure.

Keeps My Cast Totally Dry
I have a fractured wrist, with a cast on my forearm that goes from my thumb to about 2-3 inches below my elbow, and I ordered the adult short arm mitt to keep my cast dry when I shower. The mitt keeps me totally dry, and I am able to get it on and off without assistance. My cast is approximately 9" long and about 6-7 inches wide at the widest part of my hand (from my thumb to the opposite side of my hand). While the opening at the top of the mitt is tight, I can insert my hand in it without difficulty or discomfort. Just below my elbow, where the mitt stops, my arm is about 9" in diameter, and the mitt is quite tight there; it leaves a red mark on my arm. However, the mitt does not feel too uncomfortable to wear for a shower, and it slides off easily after the shower. Works a lot better than the plastic bags with rubber bands that I started out with!

not for everyone
I had wrist surgery and my bandaging was a splint to limit wrist movement and bandaging on my hand up to my elbow. My husband used their leg cast protector and found it to be very effective. I thought I would give the short arm bandage protector a try. First, the rubber membrane is very tight. I wear a shirt size XL - the hole was not large enough. Twice while we were taking off this device, it snapped right on top of my stitches. The pain was excruciating. I will try to cut the hole to make it larger. Second, I could not do this by myself. Perhaps it would be easier if I had a rigid cast and did not have to be so concerned about my stitches.UPDATE: I cut about 3/8" from the membrane. Be careful to cut parallel to the hole, if you cut perpendicular, I think it might tear. It now goes on and off much easier, but I need help removing it because of the stitches. Changed review from three stars to four.

Superb durability, well made product
I bought a short arm cast shower cover. The product itself is excellent. However, the seal is SO tight it fit my arm like a tourniquet. I'm 5'4 and weigh 155. I wear a S Apple watch band and have rather small hands and regular sized arms. I had to cut the opening larger as I was getting small bruises because of the tight fitting. Of course having to adjust showering without my right hand made for longer showers - hence wearing cast cover longer than normal? I would return if I could but I altered product. I gave the product a low comfort rating due to the tightness which is necessary to keep water out, and a medium rating for ease of use because it was difficult to put on/take off due to the tight fit. Good luck!

Not for everyone!
This is a wonderful choice for anyone with a full cast, but it's not good for someone with a partial cast or bandages who lives alone like me. The latex free gasket seals very well but it's difficult to get over a bulky bandage.I had surgery on my dominant hand which left me with a large incision, and two stainless steel rings on the back of my hand. I also have a large incision on the back of my wrist where the surgeon harvested bone marrow for a graft. I have a cast on the bottom of my hand, but only layers of gauze on the top and everthing is wrapped by a tensor bandage. It is extremely difficult and painful to get this sleeve on one-handed. The gasket can only be inched up because it is so tight that it puts pressure on my incisions and pulls on the tensor bandage, which in turn pulls on the rings causing bleeding and severe pain.

Dry cast
This protector is very important in keeping your cast dry. The quality of the bag and rubber seal is far better than expected. Very good value since it is reusable many times. Be careful how you pull the rubber seal over the cast as any sharp edges may cut the rubber. Very good product.

Uncomfortable
Real pain getting this on and off and it's very uncomfortable. Easier just holding my broken arm up and away.
