I was replacing a bathroom faucet, and while i was at it decided to go ahead and replace the drain as well. My old drain had been cloggish for years, just wouldn't drain very fast at all. This new drain top matched the color of my new faucet, and the new faucet didn't have a lever to pull up to close a drain so I needed a push/seal type like this anyway. The old drain was easy and obvious to remove, and this new one was easy and obvious how to install. It did not come with any instructions, none are needed, I didn't watch a youtube video and I've never replaced a bathroom drain before. This new one works great, the water flows and drains very well, and to close the drain and let water build up in the sink you simply press it, it's like spring loaded, then press it again to pop it back up and let the water drain. It looks great and works great. And yes, as some reviews said it is larger than the one I replaced, however I like that, the sink I put it in is an old marble one that wasn't taken care of and had some staining around the drain that this larger size drain cover, well, covered up. I couldn't be happier with this purchase, wish I'd done it years ago.EDIT: In addition to the original purchase, I ended up buying three additional of these drains for the other bathroom sinks in my house, I was so pleased with the original that I just decided to do the others. It's cheap, very easy to install, and really good quality, it drains very well and easy to stop the draining if you want with literally the push of a button, and it looks good when installed. Of the four I've done, three of them worked right away. The fourth one needed an extension pipe between this drain and the P-trap below, it was just short of reaching it, but that's fine, it wasn't this drain's fault, it was the previous installer's work that caused that issue.

Wouldn't seal w/o plumbers putty. Directions states no putty required as could ruin gasket but after several attempts that should have been a half hour install I resorted to using the putty. It's installed, looks good, and no leaks but if I have to replace I will use the Phister that I installed a year ago on another sink in about 15 minutes with no issues. Cheaply made but for 9 bucks what can I say. I want to add to confirm what another reviewer said that is a major concern and I will replace when I have time. This drains very slow and water builds up in the sink and requires the sink to be cleaned after every use. Brushing my teeth I'll spit in the toilet instead of the sink. All in all even though I was refunded my purchase I wish I had purchased a pfister or something else. Been trying to live with it but very unhygienic and I will be replacing it soon****** update So tired of the slow draining of this I ordered one that I installed in my last house. Install was a breeze, less than 15 minutes including setup, uninstall existing, install and clean up. Even though I was refunded the hassle wasn't worth it. Pay the extra $10 and you will have a drain that drains as fast as you fill. Sorry Parlos
