VAULTEK LifePod 20 Full-Size Biometric Lockable Weatherproof Case with Built-in Lock, Steel Security Cable, & TSA Handgun Case or Car Safe, Portable Travel Pistol Safe/Covert Black/Biometric

I’ve been interested in Vaultek for a while now. But I had a “average” safe with a electric buttons for the combination. But I really wanted to get a nice portable one. Vaultek knocked it out of the park. Besides being incredibly well built and super functional, it’s an absolute work of art visually. It’s gorgeous. For functionality, they thought of everything and executed flawlessly. Biometric finger print entry. Key pad entry. Key entry just in case. But you can lock out the key entry. You can store up to 20 finger prints (includes the 2 admin finger prints). The usability is excellent. So easy to program and use. Inside has multiple configuration options based on your needs including a removable tray and extra foam. Steel cable to secure it. And built tough. If I could design the absolute perfect safe (I’m using them for my guns), I’d not even have come close to how perfect this one is. I can’t recommend it more. Just get it. You will be thrilled and be able to rest assured your gun(s) (or valuable) are safe. I’ll be getting the multi gun Vaultek MX soon. Well done Vaultek, you’ve gained a customer for life.

This is my third vaultek product, the others being the first generation LifePod and the "Pew Pew Life" LifePod 2.0. The LifePod 20 is comparable in size and weight to the 2.0. Both can house a full size pistol, up to 8 or 9 inches if I remember), and magazine(s) when set up correctly (tested with a 320 compact and 21 round magazine). It houses my Smith & Wesson Shield+, with extras, comfortably. The tray that comes with the LifePod doesn't fit with the firearm and extras. Even with everything loaded inside, the vaultek is still light. The light turns on for 30 seconds when the case is opened, giving decent illumination. There is also a miscellaneous tray installed in the lid. It holds cards and various other items. To open the LifePod, either use the fingerprint scanner (instant access), or tap the lock button and input your access code, then undo the clasps. When you're finished, press and hold the lock button until you hear it lock. The LifePod can also be used without a battery, but it won't lock. The programming for the keypad and fingerprint scanner is very easy. The biometric lock is a nice feature. This is my first time using a vaultek with fingerprint lock. I was leery at first, but down the road I realized it's better should I somehow forget the code or need access in an emergency. Programming the fingerprint scanner is simple; can't do it wrong if you follow the instructions and it takes only a five minutes. Programming the code only takes a 2 minutes at most. If the battery dies, you can still access the inside by using the provided keys. The key does not lock the LifePod though. Since I just bought the LifePod 20, I can't make a judgement call about battery life just yet. What I can tell you is my LifePod 2.0 battery finally ran out (I bought it back in 2022) while my LifePod is still running on the same battery since 2021. The keypad powers down after a few seconds and, as mentioned earlier, the light cuts off after 30 seconds. If you're not constantly inside the case, the battery lasts a long time. Overall, with this being my third product from Vaultek, I think it's worth the price tag. Battery life is good (based on experience withother products), it houses my edc comfortably, and the biometric lock grants quick access.

I travel a few times a year and don’t always keep all my valuables on me. It’s nice to have a secure, portable lockbox for the smaller items I want to leave behind safely at the hotel. This one is ideal for a small firearm as well as a wallet, passports, cash, watches, and similar essentials. You don’t need to exercise your Second Amendment rights to benefit from it—anyone who travels will appreciate the peace of mind. It’s compact enough to slip into a laptop bag yet roomy enough for everything I need, and it comes with a cable so you can secure it to a bed frame or another large, hard-to-move object. I should have bought one years ago, but I’m glad I finally have it.

Nice, solid and secure

I found Safe overpriced having in mind its 2024 and get equiped with USB micro! They claiming in event you are out, don't have spare keys and battery died you can connect Life pod 2.0 through USB micro and open your Safe! But who carry USB micro in 2024 when everything is USB-C ? Very irresponsible move! Second! If they build Life pod 2.0 just 1/4 inch higher everything would make sense! You could fit full size Gun and use tray, in this configuration you can't use both same time unless you force lid to close!! Ruger 1911 5 inch fits but you can't use plastic tray! 1/4 inch would make everything great! My XD-S 3.3 inch Springfield doesn't fit either again 1/4 inch higher and would be amazing! Everything else I agree with 5 star reviews! Update! Actually I found solution for gun and tray, its funny one but work! Put your gun in Lifepod take a tray in heat it in oven (390) for about 45 seconds or so be careful not to overheat check the tray few times take the plastic out of oven and put it on top of the gun and press gently it will mold around the gun and minute later you have perfect Life pod with tray

Love this safe! It normally sits next to my bed with the cable around my bed post so no one can grab and go. I also use this when I travel. Its TSA compliant on SWA and I've flown with it 5 or 6 times in the checked bag. The biometric safe has worked as I expected it to. I've had it for over a year and probably opened it 2 times per week. It also allows me to put more than one finger print in it's memory and you can still use a number code. Its fits my Glock 19, a flashlight and a 30 round Glock mag. So it holds quite a bit which is a big upgrade from my old version. I would highly recommend this product after 3 Vaultec purchases. I own two of these and the larger safe with a slide out shelf. It works great too!

Great locking design good price easy to use and its even got the accessories for the car
