Works as expected
This is definitely easy to use for our cat who, for some reason could continued to poop on the couch. Once we got this, he had stopped pooping on the couch. I wish it had a plug-in to the wall option so you don’t have to change the batteries, although we have not had to change the batteries yet.

ALMOST AS GOOD AS MY SHOTGUN
Okay. I don't own a shotgun. I breed Bengals. I own about seven scat mats. You use these as about a week and then put it away until a new cat arrives and jumps on the kitchen counter showing the older cats ... "Wait! I can jump up there again? Cool!" Just remember to take the batteries out carefully when storing it.No it doesn't injure the cat either. In fact some cats laughed at me after jumping on it. It's almost sinister. The look is uncanny, " Nice try pal "I think in those cases they are walking between the evenly spaced wires embedded in the sheet of plastic.Also, battery life is fine. I think some people are just leaving the thing on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for months or something because it doesn't take that much training time.

It works! Battery dies quickly though
The mat works! My dogs don't sit on the sofa anymore, and they learned that if they step on it they will get shock. It is not harmful at all!the only thing is that I have changed the battery like 3 times already! But it's fine... sometimes I just put it on the sofa without turning it on, and they respect the mat.

Works
They definitely keep the cats off my kitchen table and counters. Took off after a few weeks and had to put it back once because they didn't learn their lesson. Never got up there again 1 of my mats stopped working 5 months after using. I contacted the company and after troubleshooting the mat, they sent a new one because it couldn't be fixed.

Too narrow!
It is very effective for a dog but not for a cat. The wires inside it are too far apart for their paws and the mat is just too narrow. The cat jumped over it with ease.
