Just received this Bare Bones Nata machete and I am digging it! The walnut handle is well done and the grip is ergonomic at least for my hand. The blade came sharpish enough but the steel is quality and the right amount of heft for the design and length. I was looking for a shorter blade machete and this fit my needs. The price point is very reasonable. The sheath is nice enough however I would have preferred a different type belt/ carry attachment but I’ll likely fabricate something else for it though I haven’t given that aspect much thought yet. The machete swings well as I was looking for a blade that’s both long enough and short enough to use in tight wooded areas. Also a blade without a lot of flex like say a Gerber camp machete. I did add a wrist loop of 550 cord though. Overall a solid machete!

I love this chopper. It is sharp right out of the box. Making it sharper was easy. I have cut over a hundred 1/4 inch shrubs & pretty thick pine treee branches with no blade damage & good edge retention. 4 stars for the handle screws coming loose. Quick fix is that I put thread locker on them. Problem solved.

The quality on this machete seems very good. It has exceeded my expectations.

I love this thing. Came already sharp, but after a few passes with a buffing wheel I was able to shave a bald path on my arm in one swipe. Most machetes are thin and flimsy and won't work on anything thicker than a pencil. I used this baby on a maple brach the thickness of a broom handle and it went through on one slice. A branch the thickness of my wrist took 2 swings. The blade is thick enough to not bend and weighty enough to split kindling. If you have trees in your yard, you will need something like this eventually. For the price, can't beat it

I bought this for my husband for when he takes our dog for a hike. It’s the perfect size!

Update: ive lowered this to 3 stars due to uneven handle which is prone to turn in your hand when using a lot of force. This creates a safety issue. I will be leather wrapping the handle to solve this.First off let me say that I have not put this to work yet. With that being said, this machete is a work of art. The handle is well made, secure and comfortable.The blade came pretty sharp and well ground. By well ground I mean its symetrical on both sides and through the length. Heafty without being overly heavy. There are minor blemeshes in the polish on the steel in certain places on the handle, this is not going to detract from usability and you have to look for them to find it.All in all, if the blade holds up well, this is great bang for your buck. You could easily pay 3 times this amount for a coustom machete made of this quality. I'll update as i use it.
