This is the best dehumidifier - set it and forget it (for a month or so). Easy to refresh in the oven. No mess like other types of dehumidifiers. Lasts a long time, I've had others for years now, still effective.

Have no qualms with this item ...Have two of them in my safe and they work great ...have a digital safe monitor that shows the humidity in present time (also Shows the Minimum & Maximum RH readings - the maximum RH I have seen in my safe is 45% and the minimum is 40%) and does the same for the temperature (between 72 F. and 76 F .). It is resettable and I reset it every time I dry the units out in the oven. It also has has a readout to indicate the safe condition and it has never been off of dry). Oh and I have checked the safe monitor for accuracy using a Fluke Meter that is able to monitor Humidity (RH) and Temperature (C or F). If you size this item for your safe (cubic inches) and maintain it, then you will not have a issue with moisture in your safe. I would buy this item again.

Purchased this unit for my gun safe. Initially, the humidity level was at 52% before I had placed my weapons inside the safe. Since I placed this unit in the safe, it has maintained a humidity level of 42%. Works as designed! The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating was due to the delay in having the order fulfilled / delivered.

I like the canister. It keep the moisture from getting to my stuff and when the canister gets full of moisture I just put it into the over until the balls turn blue again and I put it back and the canister starts working all over again.

The Snapsafe dehumidifier is a great way to protect your firearms from rusting while safely locked away in your Gun safe. The fact that it is reusable and easy to use makes it a great value for gun owners.

It seems to work fairly well at absorbing moisture, but if you don’t pay attention and recharge it often enough, the body of the canister rusts.I have two of these in a safe of about 18 cu. ft. so it should be more than enough dehumidifying capacity. Humidity stays around 45-60%. Wish it was more like 40-50%. Safe is already indoors in a climate-controlled room.Went 9 months without recharging them (yes, that was negligence on my part), so the crystals were nice and pink, and to my surprise the canister body was starting to rust. I guess I figured for the price the canister body would be stainless steel, but no it’s just mild steel.Bottom line: it does absorb moisture, although the performance doesn’t seem to be stellar. Construction material is disappointing for the cost (how about just galvanized metal?). Keep an eye out for the crystals turning pink. May need to be recharged as often as every 1-2 months.
