Light Meter ennoLogic eL200K – Digital Illuminance Lux Meter Photometer 0 to 200,000 Lux – Auto-Ranging, Hold, Min, Max, and Average Functions, Backlight

This is the only light meter I've used, but it appears to work very well. It's well made. I like the remote sensor so that we can mount it on a tripod and step back from the sensor. While doing measurements of outdoor lighting our body would influence the reading, but using a tripod eliminated the effect. Based on this meter I would consider buying other products from the manufacturer as well.

I enjoy using the ennoLogic eL200K digital lux meter and it is an excellent value. It is lightweight, feels good in the hand, is solidly built, and has easy-to-use switches. I was searching for a meter that was sensitive to 1 lux and had a cable-mounted sensor. With a cable-mounted sensor, the sensor can be placed in the desired position while still holding the meter conveniently. I also desired that the cable could be disconnected from the meter for storage to extend the life of the instrument. I keep the meter in its convenient case. This meter met my criteria. The back light has been useful when using the meter in low light levels. I have used the meter around the house during my transition to warm LED lighting so that I both get sufficient lighting and reduce electricity consumption overall. It has been particularly useful in transitioning kitchen lighting where I have increased work-space lighting levels but reduced the total power used by over half from my former already energy-efficient fluorescent and compact fluorescent bulbs and fixtures.

As you move the meter it jumps from 19999 to 40000 (1999 x 10 to 400 x 100) each time. It will never even read a value in the 20k to 40k range, which is likely the range you want to measure.

It comes nicely packaged in a padded case, It is well made - the display is super easy to read and provides useful information at a glance. It has a back-light - it can run on batteries and USB power. It comes with 4 batteries and a data cable which I did not use or test. Generally a lot for your money.

I've run a comparison test with two other lux meters. This one shows about 100 lux lower than other ones. For some reason under LED lights (which I need to do the testing a lot for work) it only shows about 1900 lux regardless how bright the lights are (I was testing several 10k or brighter LED lights). Please don't buy it.

Packaging is great and has a nice, foam lined carry case for travel or storage.Works perfect for my needs as a grower. I was able to dial in several different led light outputs for an equal level of lumins across an 4 x 8 ft area with great success.
