Woodnote VC-820PL New Half-Moon Style Violin Case - Light Weight

I bought this case a couple of months ago and when it arrived, there was no way to unlock it to store my violin. I figured out a way to use a mechanical pencil to unlock the case, but have to do that each time and it is tedious and annoying. To be fair, I contacted the seller and was refunded $10. Kindof a bummer, but I was making it work. I use this case to store an electric violin which I use only in my house with my digital piano. I have and need a much sturdier case for my acoustic violin as I travel with it occasionally. I have never taken this case out of my living room. It has never held anything heavy but when I picked it up earlier this week, the handle came off the case. This is totally unacceptable!! I am very disappointed in this case. I wish I could return it. I would advise you not to purchase.

Overall I love this case. My old case was falling apart (the handle literally fell off when I picked it up once) so I needed a replacement asap. My violin is 138 years old and I needed something that I can trust to keep it safe. This case isn't top of the line, but I don't worry about something happening to my violin when it's in the case (I have 3 kids and despite my keeping my violin out of reach.... Kids. Enough said). The case I received is a gorgeous shade of purple as shown on the listing.I am disappointed that it did not include the German strings set, however. From other reviewers, I'm not the only one. Amazon should probably take that off their listing as it's false advertising, or just give me the strings as listed. Hint hint Amazon.

First of all, I had to break the lock off in order to get into the case when it first arrived. I was really frustrated that the tiny key (which is pretty much a joke anyway) didn't work at all. I broke off the lock (see, that's why it's a joke because I was able to pry it off with a tool pretty easily). The inside of the case is nice and that's one of the reason's why I ordered this specific one because it's not black, like most cases. It is also light. It fits all the important items like the shoulder rest and rosin. So hopefully this lasts a very long time because I really don't want to buy another case.

This seems like a decent case for the money. I like the gray exterior with purple/eggplant interior. Only time will tell how it holds up.I ran into an issue being able to close the lid with a violin that has a thick chinrest (1 1/4"). It would not fit until I removed the clear plastic tube from the lid interior, AND removed the small black bracket that holds it in place. Then there was enough clearance for the chinrest to close the case. If the manufacturer moved the one holding bracket closer to the end of the case, you'd only need to pull the tube to fit some thicker chinrests. Very thick chinrests, like 1 - 3/8", probably won't fit even with the tube bracket removed.This case fits a 14-1/4 inch violin body.

this case is very lightweight, which some people may really want, but with my music in the front pocket the handles randomly broke off and now the case is useless and be i had to buy a new case after only 2 months of having the case

Bought this case for my violin about a month and a half ago. Fits perfectly, plenty of room, and I love the purple color.Unfortunately, the lock mechanism was sometimes really hard to open, and this week it broke. Now I can't use the lock at all. I still like the other features, so it gets a few stars, but it would have more if it hadn't broken in a month and a half of normal use.

The case itself is good and sturdy, and will have to see how it holds up as my son uses it for his violin in school. The humidity meter, however, doesn't work (needle doesn't move at all) - not a big deal as we are not storing/transporting valuable violins in this case.

I liked nothing because what I ordered I never received. I didn’t like the fact that I ordered the beautiful presentation purple case and I received grey inside not same quality and outside different design not same quality
