Kalour Watercolor Pencils
I am new to watercolor pencils, and am, by no stretch of the imagination, artistic. At best, I'm moderately crafty :) With that being said, I like these pencils a lot, especially the wide variety of colors. A decent quality swatch card is also included, which is nice. So far I have only used them with stencils to make simple snowflake designs on watercolor paper then "painting" the designs with water and have been pleased with the results. The only negative would be the two brushes that are included, as they are very poor quality. They shouldn't have even been included. A pencil sharpener would have been better and more useful. It's just a personal preference, but I like watercolor pencils much better than colored pencils. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase =^..^=

The best beginner watercolor pencils
These pencils are fun to color with they are hard lead but not to hard, they react to water very quickly and is easily movable, the colors are vibrant. If you want good watercolor pencils but you are new to water coloring and don't want to spend a lot of money I definitely recommend these!

Pro or kid this is a fantastic deal in watercolor pencils
We took this nicely metal-boxed set of multiple trays of long, fat-leaded watercolor pencils on a family trip. Enough for a dozen kids and adults to reach into, grasp and create. Dense pigments, bright colors, well-identified colors, and the leads stood up to serious heavy use. Some worked entirely with pencil, others tried watercolor wash techniques. Versatile and simply BEAUTIFUL. And a great deal!

Professional? No. Still a great deal? Yes.
I mean, come on, guys, these are less than a quarter per pencil. The color range is amazing for the price. However, there are several things about these pencils that make them less than "professional", as advertised:1) When I sharpened these for the first time, I found that a lot of the pencil cores were off-center.2) Color names are weird and/or inconsistent with the actual color. For example, Payne's Gray is nothing like the deep blue-gray artists might expect. Magenta is a reddish brown. Grenadine and Grenadine Light seem to essentially be the same color. The list goes on.3) I am unable to make head nor tail of the lightfastness ratings or claims. The back of the box says that they are "unsurpassably" lightfast, and the Amazon listing says that a higher rating means more lightfast, which would be great, considering that most of these pencils have a lightfast rating of 5. Yet, per the rating system on the interior of the box, a rating of 5 is the MOST fugitive, not least. None of the pencils have a rating of 1, or "Extremely Lightfast", per the key that actually comes with the product. I'm not sure which is correct here; I've half a mind to conduct my own lightfastness tests just to crack the mystery.Overall, you get what you pay for—I would feel confident using these in a sketchbook, art journal, or coloring book, but I would not use these for any paid work. Still an amazing deal!

Excellent deal!
They have the cool little paper with the list of colors for you to color in so you know exactly what the color looks like, and they're in the same order on the paper as in the tin, so that's great! I haven't used them a ton yet, but I've used them for doll customizing and they work really well! I think they're an excellent choice for the price and what you get. Also, they come sharpened. Great, all around!

The best budget watercolour pencil on the market
These are creamier than the brutefuner watercolour pencils. I have tried many different brands of wc pencils over the years. These remind me of student grade derwent wc pencils. The barrels look exactly like Faber-Castell's wc pencils that mirror the famous polychromos. They aren't quite as creamy as Faber-Castell's professional grade wc pencils but they are pretty close. Beware that any of Kalour's professional grade pencil series are most likely not lightfast and will fade rapidly as framed art. Another thing I have noticed with this company's sets is the colours of the the exterior of the pencils don't always match from set to set. The paint from run to run can differ a little... But those minor inconsistencies are what we can expect in a budget brand. You definitely pay for those things with expensive brands!
