Technically, the device works fine, which is why this is not 1-star. But if you need it for outdoor use, absolutely forget it unless you have the most specific of cables. After struggling for an hour, I contacted customer support who sent over instructions on how to connect the weatherproof cap. Ummm, why not include those instructions in the box? The instructions recommend using scissors to cut a thick rubber piece so it fits over the cable. Ummm, why not cut it for me at the factory? Then the only way the silver caps fits over the whole thing is if you made your own cable and it has absolutely nothing over the termination. And I mean nothing! I cut back a pre-made off-the-shelf CAT6 cable to the base and the cap still did not fit. After several more customer service exchanges, they admitted the design needed work. Yeah, so don't sell a product you know is defective!

A previous negative review faulted the product for the 3 input/output cable glands. The glands are very high quality metal and create an excellent seal to both UV rated Cat6e and U/G rated Cat6a. The negative reviewer was attempting to use pre-fabricated, moulded boot cables which OF COURSE will not fit through a gland. It should be quite obvious to anyone with any experience that one needs to terminate their own Cat6 cable after inserting it through the gland.The housing quality is outstanding, the metal glads are extremely high quality, and the performance is exactly as specified (>30W 802.3bt on each output port when supplied with a proper 802.3bt PoE++ source).If you are looking for a cheap solution, pick up a 100baseT PoE 'splitter' and stick it in a weatherproof box and live with only 15W per port. If you want a waterproof, high performance, PoE++, gigabit splitter - these this is the product you should get.
