Can you make cold brewed coffee in this?

Absolutely! I have been using mine for a few months now to make cold brewed coffee. I prepare the coffee the night before and pop it into the refrigerant overnight. I like the stainless steel construction because I don't have to worry about it shattering if it gets jostled around in the fridge. It fits perfectly into one of the bins on the inside door.

Is this product BPA free?

Is the entire unit completely lead free? It concerns me it is made in China.

Hey there! With regards to your question, the French Press is made from high quality 403 grade stainless steel - the same as used in surgical instruments. There are no chemicals used during the manufacturing process and certainly no adhesives. It is completely lead free. By the way, the concept and design was formulated in the UK - Gator headquarters and the manufacture was done in China. why does this take 9 minutes?

It could actually take as little as 3, depending on your preparation resources and taste in coffee. 3-4 minutes are required to heat your water to 200-degrees in a microwave. This could be reduced to 20-seconds if you have an instant hot water tap. The manufacturer recommends steeping the coffee for 5-minutes for full taste, but I would steep my coffee for as little as 3 in the past and still got great results.
