High quality alloy bodied torch
This is like a top-end Maglite 2 D cell torch, only it is lighter and shorter. The alloy body is particularly well made and is streets ahead of a typical plastic torch. It is not quite as robust or bright as my Maglite, but is a lot cheaper and delivers most of the functionality. Because it is easier to carry around, I've ended up using it more and then getting several for round the house and car. It takes a few days to get shipped to the UK from overseas, but is worth the wait.

Thank You, KunHe
I shop for value. This aluminum flashlight is what I wanted at a good price. First, I looked for a 2D cell LED light with a simple on/off switch, which this has, and it is said to be waterproof. I previously bought a name brand plastic light with sliding switch, thinking it would be more reliable than a pushbutton and less likely to switch on in a travel bag. But that switch is buggy, and it is not water resistant. The switch on this KunHe light works well, every time. The threading on the removable rear cap is good. The center body has diamond etching for a comfortably sure grip, and there is a flat space in it which points to the switch. To my surprise, I find that the flat space works very well in the dark to guide my thumb to the switch. Overall, I think the light is well designed, and it seems well made, of good material. It looks and feels like quality. The light is heavyish with the two D batteries in it but light without them. I have no complaint about the battery weight, because a two D cell light is what I wanted. The light seems designed for outdoors, with a center high beam that is round and a round surrounding low beam. The surround beam is not quite as bright as I expected but bright enough. The center beam is focused and strong. If there comes a time camping when I want to put light on something that is out there a good distance, this would do the job. At fourteen bucks, I would buy this light again without hesitation. Based on the short time I've had this flashlight, I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a light like this.

No frills, basic flashlight
In this era of specialty flashlights, rechargeable batteries, strobe flashers, etc., I just wanted a simple, solid, metal, 2 D-cell flashlight. And this was one of the very few I found. Its only upgrade from the flashlights of old is the (highly desirable) LED bulb. This one is just what I wanted. It has a good, bright, white light, and a nice soft on-off switch, and it appears to be very sturdy and well-made.. It will be great for power outages, or camping, or picking up the mail on those dark winter afternoons. I should add that the first one I received was a dud โ it went dim after one second and then switched off, again and again. Probably a defective LED. This was on a Thursday, and I immediately requested a replacement. I dropped off the defective unit at my local UPS store on Friday morning, and Amazon delivered the replacement on Saturday. Much to my delight, it works perfectly. Bottom line: great product, and great service from Amazon.

Its fine, but not Maglite
I bought this to see if I could Frankenstein parts of an old Maglite onto this (the body of the latter was destroyed due to the battery corrosion) . You can not do it. I was hoping that the KunHe would be an exact knock-off, but the dimensions aren't the same. Compared to a Maglite, it's not as beefy. When you hold a 2 D-cell Maglite, it feels like it could be used as a weapon as it has heft. Not so with the KunHe. When I put batteries in this one, at first the light did not come on, and I determined that I needed to stretch out the spring at the bottom of the flashlight and then it worked. Light is good and bright. You can't adjust the beam focus like a Maglite, but the beam is fine as is. The knurled body texture is good and seems as though it wont be slippery in inclemate conditions. The KunHe seems to have an anodized finish, whereas Maglite seems to have a high-gloss paint finish. The batteries rattle around in the KunHe when you shake it. I ended up sliding a couple of old nylon tie wraps along side of the batteries and it stopped the rattle. Feels solid now. Since this is about half or one-third of the price of a LED Maglite, I'd say its a decent flashlight for the money. Just be sure to temper your expectations.
