Solid performer
I've had a few of KVM switches and many have given up after a few months. So this time I spent a little more for something more durable. While bigger than some this unit is much smaller than I expected. Somehow it looked bigger in the pictures. That is a good thing as it fits nicely on the desk. It has a nice weight and is very well built being of a mostly metal case. It comes with the main unit and proprietary cables that connect to the computers and monitor/keyboard/mouse. At first I didn't think I would like anything proprietary but the cables connect solidly and save much real estate on the desk a definite plus. Plug and play the instructions were well written if you need them. Another nice feature is that the cables are situated such that it provides for a clean setup. Most other brands have cables going everywhere out all sides.Pros... solid, compact, easy to set upCons... none so far.

Reliable & Sturdy
I've had a very good experience with this particular KVM switch. However, upon experimentation, it appears that only a Tripp Lite brand PS/2 to USB converter will properly support a non-ps/2 computer attached to this device. I use an old reliable D-Link DKVM-2 switch on my main workstation and this is the most promising desktop alternative that I have evaluated so far. I had endured unstable results for several years using two highly popular IOGEAR models which produced jittery VGA output to the monitor. I'm now very pleased with my latest acquisition. I would definitely buy this product again.

Good form factor, easy operation
The problem with many inexpensive KVM switches is that the cable connections occupy two or three sides, the selection buttons (if any) are on the top and the hot key switching sequence is cumbersome. This switch has all cable connections on the back, buttons/LEDs on the front, and a reasonable (but not best I have encountered) hot key sequence. The metal case is impressive and operation has been flawless for the month or so I have had it. The form factor allowed me to mount it under a shelf where it is convenient but out of the way. I had another 2-port PS2 KVM switch on hand but I put it back in the box and bought this because the design of that switch would not permit a clean installation.

Incorrectly advertised parts
The product description clearly states that there are two 6 foot cables in the box. What you actually get are two 4 foot cables...My computers are not right next to my feet, so a 4 foot cable is useless to me. I purchased the product based on it providing 6 foot cables, and now I cannot use it at all.To purchase two 6 foot cables separately is an extra $40.. more than the price of the KVM switch to begin with! I cannot speak to the quality of the product since I cannot use it, but be warned to avoid this product if you need a cable longer than 4 feet.

works perfectly
Worked just as advertised. I even used the usb to ps2 converter cable and that worked fine for one computer that had no ps2 connections.

It works, but docs & UI could be better.
The device works well, though the cables all have both PS2 and USB ends, so I end up with the PS2 ends unused and have to Velcro them up. The software isn't the greatest UI, but it does the job. The resolution is a bit funky, but it certainly provides the console access when you need it, so overall it works well. Documentation is a bit thin, I'd like to figure out how to change the authentication model so that it goes against by AD credentials, but no luck there yet. It would also be nice to be able to change the certificate so that it can pass certificate checks, but no luck there either.

One Star
Did not come with any connector cables. So I returned it and got one that did.

only way to go
This is the best, if you are using old PS/2 keyboard and mouse. Since I have to control 4 computers I went from 2 port to 4 port.Old unit had a nicer buttons which felt more positive where 4 port unit has overlay switches which do not feel as good, but so far it works.
