This novella is a prequel to a new series
After the death of her parents in a carriage accident, Lorelei and her younger brother are sent to live with her Aunt Isobel, a Dowager Duchess. She is ruthlessly coached for her come-out and forced to watch her younger brother wilt under the Dowager's criticism. Thorne Gray, the Earl of Kimpton is also being nagged by his mother to marry to ensure the continuation of his line. Giving in to her, he attends a ball where a beautiful young lady faints from lack of air and a too-tight corset. He is close enough to catch her and for the first time, he decides that he might want to marry after all. Their courtship is an uneasy one, with her Aunt determined to marry her to someone else. This novella is a prequel to a new series and ends rather choppily. Lorelei and Thorne' story continues in "The Earl's Error.' It is interesting but does need a good proof reader to correct some silly errors.Sexual content may offend some readers

Cute but too short choppy at the end.
I’m not big on novellas for the very reason that they all tend to take forever to get somewhere then are rushed and jagged at the end. This one was no different. My heart went out to Lore and Brandon and wished this was a full novel so I could read more but alas, was not meant to be.Even though I liked the storyline and the characters, the abrupt and rushed ending kinda puts me off of trying another book from this author. Is it because it’s a novella or is it because that’s how the author writes?I guess I wish it had more… you know? Not sure if I’ll try another from this new to me author. On the plus side, it was very well edited and the flow was almost flawless, almost because of the rushed ending and it made for a very quick read. Just not sure how to view the author’s overall writing after the ending…

Great start
This was a short, sweet beginning to what promises to be a very good series. Therre was indications that the Duchess had secrets and also her new friend Ginny. So can't wait to read more.

TOO SHORT !!!
This book was a great story line ! I was so caught up in this book at the 1st chapter. I finished this book quickly. I WAS WAY TOO SHORT !!This book should have been longer, it had GREAT POTENTIAL !!!!!WHY WAS IT SO SHORT ???? Thank you ! It was a pleasure to read.

Good story, but too short.
I enjoyed the story, but it’s short and leaves you hanging. It’s complete as a short story, but I read the excerpt of the next book and that shows the couple’s future in splinters. So, I’m anxious to read more.

Proofreader? Someone familiar with English?
On the plus side, the lead characters were likeable. If you enjoy trying to figure out what words Mrs. Malaprop was trying to use, this story is for you!“His rage bounded against the old wood.”“A smile fleeted[sic] across her face.”“His inner acumen pulsated beneath his skin” (my favorite. I kept waiting for “his outer acumen” to make an appearance, although the French modiste named Madame Bovine, a name no one took exception to, was a close second.)“Clothes and parasols displayed a variety of conceivable color.”There was so much more. It was equally entertaining and disheartening.

Enchanting the Earl
I loved this story but I think a background of Lorelei and Brandon's start would help set the stage. I am a hopeless romantic.

ok. . .but too short
This wasn't a bad story, but it did end to quickly which I guess is the fate of prequels. You probably won't want to read this book unless you intend to read the Earl's Error, which I'm assuming contains the real story between Lorilei and Thorne. And after reading some of the reviews, I'm not sure now whether I want to continue. As I said, not a bad story, but defintely some grammatical errors. It could use some editing.

It is a short story!
It is a romance that moved fast from start to finish. There were some side stories that could have been explored more

Decevant
Écriture moyenne, histoire cliché et peu enrichissante. Expérience décevante. Déçue de ma lecture. Je pourrais donner une autre chance à l'auteur éventuellement, à suivre.
