Quality made
Its quality a previous reviewer complained of small holes in the rubber... its a dead blow hammer not a work of art my gosh who cares u can hardly see them!!!As for the hammer it is great with the lead shot in the center it transfers the energy all to the hit object with almost no bounce back its almost like a instant double hit! Still i am a machinist and i use it to hit work pieces into my vise jaws to sit flat on my parallels.. it works but even with the huge 4lber i got u need to really hit it hard. I usually use a rawhide and that actually requires much less force to get it to hit the parallels! Though once i get it down and start to have issues with bounce and cant get both parallels tight the dead blow comes into its own. Its not the end all be allhammer its a tool that is useful when i need it. Other great uses*brake rotors rusty beat em off..*capentry tonge and grove* anything where a hammer is needed but it is critical not to mark it up or damage it! This is great!!For a machinist i still like the rawhide better but most agree that a olastic type or nylon hammer works best. Stanley makes a orange obe that worjs excellent. This does work though

Beads do not move enough
Metal beads inside hammer do not move enough to be effective. The color looks more red than safety orange and the handle is both slippery and uncomfortable. It might be great but I decided to return it anyway.

Works great!
I bought the 12 lb and standing next to it is a harbor freight 4 lb for comparison. Works great for beating ddg’s out of the hopper. I’ve only used it a few times so this is not a long term review. For what I use it for and the places I go, I wish the handle was about half the size. But I probably could’ve spent more time on here searching for one but couldn’t pass up this price.

Pretty decent
Have about a dozen of these for our semi hopper trailer drivers. Not too bad for the money. They beat the h_ll out of them.

Best value for the money
what's not to like you hit things with it and they come apart. I have been an auto tech. for 30 years first time I had to buy 1 of these - someone always seem to have 1. I use it to knock off tires that have not been rotated in 2 years (yes I know who you are). I always use it on the hub shocker we have to knock out wheel bearings to name a few things that I beat on with it. So far it has held up just fine.

Needs a better grip.
This tool works well, but the grip is slippery. Needs to be knurled or atleast have a type of grippy texture added into the mix

Dead blow mallet (PU) material.
Dead blow mallet (PU) material. 450 grams head weight. Overall length 280mm, head length 90mm x diameter = 37mm. Compact size for striking wooden handle chisels. No rebound or splintered tool handles. Suitable for gently positioning framing, cabinets and fine joinery work. Modern replacement for wooden mallet. Our newly qualified joiner/technician still uses his Beech mallet.

Awesome dead blow
I can't tell if it's sand or shot inside, but this hammer performs really really well. You can feel the internal shift, but very very slightly. It's a good weight, seems to be put together well, and so far has done a great job installing deck pavers, which is admittedly a bit hard on plastic/rubber hammers (the job destroyed a hammer from Prin Aut, which is the reason for ordering this one). It would be nice if I still have this hammer in 40 years (well it will be great if I'm still around to use this hammer in 40 years) as I still have some hammers from my grandfather (they just don't make things to last 3 generations anymore).

Great value and investment
I have used this 9 pound hammer to install a flywheeel on a 150 ton Cincinnati break press, and on several other very large couplings onto shafts. It moved the flywheel 1/8" at a time with zero bounce. Also a few good swings seating a 400 pound peice of hardox 500 into a fixture with rough torch cut ends. I have to say I am very impressed with this hammer so far. Plastic is definitely tough and has no marks on either the components or the hammers face. Definitely high impact plastic vs the cheaper soft rubber dead blows. Also it does not bouce back. Its worth mentioning the couplings were heated for a 0.0015" interference fit. No damage to plastic from heated impact either. Not sure if this was heat resistant in its descriptions but all and all I absolutely recommend this to anyone in the trades. Great quality tool. If this hammer broke tomorrow it already paid for itself at only 100 bucks and I'd order another same day. I have used similar $400 hammers of similar weight and cannot see any difference in quality.

Better quality material than the rubber made dead blows
Comparing with my 15 buck rubber 4lbs dead blow. The face doesn’t gouge up as quickly, better transfer of impact energy towards the component being hit while providing excellent dead blow action. I find I need to use less energy to get more work done. I read a review where stated that the grip is Slightly slippery ... and yes I do think The grip is slightly slippery, so make sure you have a tight grip on it... Price point is pretty good for what you get. Definitely a good upgrade from the cheap rubber ones.

Very high quality
I love this dead blow. The material the outer casing is made of is unbelievably durable. I bought a 2lb snap on dead blow around the same time I bought this 4lb Capri. The Capri has seen way more frequent and hard use, but does not have a single cut or gouge in the casing. My snap on dead blow has little nicks and cuts everywhere. I will definitely be replacing my snap on dead blow with a Capri when it falls apart.
