Q: - What are the dimensions of this item?

The pieces are small. I would say about 1-2 inches a piece. I gave them out as party favors along with kinetic sand so I no longer have any at home to measure for you.

Yes, it's small molds but will work with any sand

We have used it with regular sand and playdough
