PPI Six-Minute Solutions for Civil PE Exam: Construction Depth Problems, 2nd Edition – Contains Over 100 Practice Problems for the NCEES PE Civil Construction Exam Second Edition

Great problems to work through. I've got another 3 weeks to go until test time and these problems are helping me find points of emphasis that I need to work on. I have taken a practice exam and it appears that the test itself will have many more questions that are simpler in nature, but this is a fantastic reference to prepare you to solve multi-step problems in an efficient manner.

Update: Coming back to update my review after working through this book twice and found multiple incorrect solutions on top of basic arithmetic errors. Unless you can find this book used or deeply discounted, don’t bother.Original review:I’m only 5 problems into this book and I’ve already found two arithmetic errors. Considering the price I paid for this book, and the fact that’s it’s the second edition, I am not pleased with this purchase. Unfortunately, there are very few reliable materials with Construction Depth problems available.

Harder than the actual test question but good to prepare.

The questions in this book are good, and help you learn the process of solving. However they are overly difficult. If you can solve these problems at all, let alone in 6 minutes, you should be good for the test.

Overall these example problems were much more difficult and involved than the NCEES practice exam and the actual PE exam. The problems are good for reviewing topics and concepts, but aren't realistic to what you might see on the exam. Good reference for studying, but if you are only looking for practice problems, I would just stick to the official NCEES practice exam.
