Dance Dance Revolution X - PlayStation 2

Packaging looks brand new, the game runs great! Played this game as a kid and it’s just as fun as I remember it.

Pros:The song selection is diverse in speeds, genres, and difficultyThe 20-foot rating system is a must for DDR players who could do 9 or 10-footers on the games beforeThe increasing cheesiness of Street Master Mode and the announcer is actually funny (see DDR Universe 3 for the pinnacle of announcer cheesiness)Cons:The Street Master Mode is uninspiring for an experienced DDR playerNotable:Songs with a difficulty around nine or thirteen are comparable to jogging and sprinting respectively in terms of burning caloriesMy first DDR game was DDR Extreme and I have no idea how long I have been playing (7 years perhaps). I own all main PS2 DDR games except DDR X2, and this game is slightly better than DDR Max 2 in terms of song selection. For fans of DDR, surely buy this game; for newcomers to the franchise, purchase DDR Extreme 2 and/or DDR Max 2 at a very reasonable price (DDR Hottest Party 3 if you have a Wii). I bought the game from goHastings and it arrived like new.

Was just expecting the disc but got the whole case, instruction manual, and disc was in excellent condition!

This game instantly made me miss the old announcer! I had to turn off the announcer in options like immediately! Some songs are pretty fun though! Lots of jumps! Some songs are pretty lame and old. You win some you lose some!

I can think of almost nothing good to say about this lousy game. I've been playing DDR for about 7 years, at home & at arcades, and have probably played at least 8 different editions of this game. This one is by far the worst. The lag time at every point in the game is absurd- how can this have gotten so much WORSE than in previous games? It's a huge step backward that I just don't understand. Also, as others have mentioned, the announcer's voice is another giant un-improvement. His "I'm so hip" attitude (Good song choice, dawg) is ridiculous. But if you turn the voice off during songs (as I did), you miss the fun comments, like notifications when you hit 100/200/300 steps in a row. The Street Master mode is, again, a step in the wrong direction: what's with having to slog through the silly, silly story lines to get to the challenges? And the step ratings inflation- why? For me to be able to AA an 8 footer the first time through is crazy. I'd like to be that good, but for "normal" DDR games, I'm not. Apart from all these bad game changes, I thought the backgrounds were boring and unmemorable, as were many (most) of the songs. I really can't understand why Konami changed so many things about the DDR format, and NONE of them for the better. Are they really that out of touch with what players want? I have but one good thing to say about this game: it was cheap. So cheap that it's not worth the postage to return it. I will likely try to sell it to a used game store.

Good game i never heard about in the series

Game itself is ok. Adds more songs and kinda fun new game modes. Kinda feel a little miss led on the ‘bundle’. I ordered the bundle expecting it to come with a game pad but didn’t realize there was a drop down to order ‘bundle with game pad’ Why call it a bundle if it doesn’t come with anything but the game.

Loved it! Works perfect! It brought me back to when I was a teenager! When I use to play this game all the time
