GREAT light clippers
We have miniature horses that we body clip for horse shows, some years I do 60 body clips in run of the year. I used to have Double K clippers heavy duty motor with long cord...that EVERYONE uses for minis. But tired of fighting heavy cord hurt my wrist...SO tried one of these and SOLD my Double Ks. I also clip my cocker spaniel so there is plenty of haircuts here. They dont get too hot, LOVE LOVE the ceramic blade it came with can clip 3 horses with it at least before starts getting little dull. They are so Light to hold. Have 3 so keep 1 in house for dog, 2 for us in the barn to clip more than one horse at a time.

Lightweight & efficient
I used to use my Andis 2 speed clipper and swore it was the best. However, after a few years of grooming I have had a lot of wrist fatigue. One of my colleagues recommended this clipper to me because it was lightweight. It is nearly as light as the bravura! This was a game-changer for me. My wrist hurts a lot less using this clipper I'm in love with it. My only genuine complaint is that the blades heat up supremely quick, so you need to change them often or use a LOT of clipper cool, even if you groom quickly. The other thing is that the cord on the bottom that is connected to the base of the clipper itself is wobbly; I looked at the store use ones that we have and they have the same "issue" so I'm sure I will have to eventually hot glue it down in permanent position. Until then, no worries! I don't know why some other reviewers received different colors than ordered, I received my pretty magenta clipper which has glitter in it, and the buttons are all in working order. Highly recommend! It has held up so far, and I groom typically 5 dogs a day 5 days a week. Go for it! Worth the extra cash compared to the Andis 2 speed. Save your wrists!

40 years as Professional Groomer Honest Review of Andis Excel Pro
Here's the facts guys....I have purchased this clipper (in every available color) since it was launched many years ago. I do 7-10 haircuts 4-5 days a week nonstop, so I have many back-up clippers as well. This is always my first choice because it's easy for me to service in the salon. It's quiet. It's the fastest and I know all of its quirks. Now for those quirks.... first thing you'll have trouble with is the plastic cap that covers the blade lever assembly. It will start to pop off and come loose (for me) about 30 days of use. You will either have to keep putting it back on, so hair doesn't get wrapped around the blade lever or tape it on with duct tape (or something like it) .... about 3.5 mos. into use the rubber grip on the sides will begin to loosen and peel off. it will not come off entirely however so you will end up with a raggedy looking worn out clipper even though it's under a year old. By the time it is 1 to 1-1/2 years old more than likely you will begin having issues with the cord making the clipper stop working (cutting out). If you can live with all of that ... it's a good clipper. I get about 6 mos. out of mine before I need to order another and so on.I WISH there was a more durable clipper out there that was as light weight as these. The weight is the biggest seller for me, I need them light. So don't waste your hard-earned money on the pretty pink overpriced ones...they all break eventually. If the grooming industry EVER actually makes a hardworking, light weight, long lasting clipper I will be the first one to try it, but you know how it is Andis corporation etc..... don't make money unless we keep having to re-purchase equipment ;p

Andis excel 5 speed+ grooming clippers
The clippers are really good quality. I'm happy with the purchase. They do a very nice job. I was disappointed that there was not information on the ad regarding the need for additional products for cooling the blades. The information is in the literature packet however had i been aware, i could have purchased the necessary products and completed the grooming in a timely manner. I had to wait on cool down.

3 months
These are the second pair of these clippers that I've purchased within a few months of each other. The first pair, after working wonderfully, after only a few months started to have problems turning on or off. I would need to press the power button several times before it would turn on or off. Many times I was afraid they would not. And when you are a dog groomer in the middle of a groom, that is not acceptable. So I purchased this second pair. Now, after 3 months, they are having the same problem and I was forced to buy yet another pair of clippers, not from Amazon this time however. I could not take the chance that I would have the same problem again because I cannot afford to buy a new set of clippers every few months. I'm not sure what the problem is with the 2 sets of this brand of clipper but I am severely disappointed because up until these issues, I loved these clippers.
