As confidence-building texts go, this one is above average. It won't actually make anyone the wisest person in the room, or help you influence others, but it does have some useful and commonsensical tips.

The three star review is perhaps more about me than the book. If, like me, you've read a few pop psychology books then this will probably not be the book for you. The issue with it is that it just covers the same old ground as other books like irrationality, how we know what isn't so etc etc. The first chapter was quite original but then we move into more familiar territory. Milgrim experiments? Check. Willpower experiments? Check. Confirmation bias? Check. And so on and so forth.
