Q: How compact does the robe fold? I need to travel with it...

Not very compact. I love it for after the pool, but not practical to fit in a suitcase.

Q: Is this robe actual terry cloth, like towel material?

This bathrobe is terry cloth, made of 100% Turkish Cotton. The fabric is like a towel.

Q: Is there much shrinkage after wash/dry? I've received lg/xl in error-ordered med/lg. Bit too big-but maybe should keep/if shrinks a little

A little shrinkage does occur. But not too much. I love mine. Like Kathy said I prefer to have more of it than less. Enjoy :)

Q: The model is 5' 10" in an extra small. I'm 5' 2" where would the length end up for us shorties?

My daughter is around 4' 10" and the xs/s bathrobe falls around mid calf.
