History: Legends of War Patton - Xbox 360

Was looking for a Christmas gift for my 7 year old son. He wanted a war game that we could play together. This was an abysmal buy. The game interface is terrible. This thing looks and feels like an early 90s computer game. There is no true multiplayer option. Multiplayer in this context really just means taking turns like you're playing a board game. There's no strategy here. There's no action. There's no real play. This is a poorly conceived, designed, and built game. My son is disappointed. I wish I had my money back.

I find this a User Friendly turn based Strategy WWII Game. The Graphics look Very Good on My 47" LED TV. And My Wife likes the Fact that I can Entertain Myself with it. That was a Joke ,

It's a good basic turn-based WWII game. The learning curve is minimal, but the controls and interface (esp. for movement) could be better. Easy at the easier difficulty and hard at the harder difficulty level. Haven't played multiplayer yet...

Good turn-based wargame - which are rare these days. I highly recommend Corporal Trim's review which covers just about everything I would say.The learning curve isn't that high and once you get the hang of swinging the camera around for different views it becomes second nature. The achievements (for the 360 - trophies for the PS3) are easy.These type of games are rare and typically appeal to the older/retro gamers that remember classic turn-based wargames (like the great PC ones from Strategic Simulations back in the 80's and the few console ones in the 90's.)To the younger gamers the graphics will seem crude and the game play unexciting since it the emphasis is more on the cerebral than the dexterous.I enjoyed the game - though not as deep as the old SSI games it was fun.

This game is so confusing I could not even understand the tutorial. If you want a good turn-based game get XCom!!

got it for my son for Christmas. his dream is to go into the army some day and fight for his country.

This game fails on many levels - being that it suported by the History Channel I don't get how history had much to do with it. in order to plan it you need to read the book it came with and it is thick oh my god! And the level you go though almost look the same with very little that changes unless you read the book - it is not intuitive at all even though it has tanks on the jacket forget it is mostly the grunts shooting at eachother in like a squad against the germans. After an hour your done for good! Save your money!
