Excellent cordless vacuum โ especially for the price!
I picked up this BLACK+DECKER PowerSeries+ cordless stick vacuum on a special for $50, and I honestly wasnโt expecting much โ but I was very pleasantly surprised. It works fantastic on tile floors and does a great job on short-pile carpet as well. What really impressed me is that it automatically adjusts the suction power when moving onto higher-pile carpet, so thereโs no guessing or manual switching. The battery life is excellent. I can clean my entire 1,800 sq ft house on a single charge, which is more than enough for regular cleaning. Itโs also very lightweight, easy to maneuver, and the LED floor lights are helpful for spotting dirt youโd otherwise miss. This vacuum is perfect for quick cleanups but powerful enough for full-house use. For the price I paid, itโs an absolute steal โ but even at regular price, Iโd still recommend it.

Money well spent!!! Excellent Investment for the home and daily touch ups with fur-babies :)
I NEVER leave reviews.. I am not a robot either! I am extremely surprised with the suction power of this vacuum. I love that I do not have to hold the button down for it to run. It also has 3 options, which I didn't know about. I can pick floor, rug, or it will switch back and forth for me. Huge for me! It's small convinces like this that make it so much easier to clean the house on a daily basis. The lights are extremely bright as well. Love that it lays flat and I can get under stuff. I usually vacuum daily which includes, living room, dining room, kitchen, hallway, and let me add I have two fur-babies. This vacuum absolutely cleans up dog hair with complete ease!! Again, I am extremely surprised. The price compared to bigger name brands threw me off a tad, I was thinking this would be below average. Absolutely not! The battery life is great considering the size. The rooms that I vacuum above I would say makes up about 850 square feet. Keeping in mind I have 5 different rugs to vacuum, which obviously takes more power. Without rushing I am easily able to vacuum the above rooms within 35 minutes. If I add my bedroom with the above rooms (also has a rug), I usually drain the battery life completely. This vacuum is also extremely well built, by no means is it cheaply made. All together considering I have only had this vacuum I think going on 3 weeks, I would absolutely repurchase when the time is do. I feel from what I have experienced within this short time this vacuum will have a long life span. My previous vacuums' have been Dysons. If you have had Dysons you know they are hard to keep up with. I am not at all disappointed with this purchase. Again, giving the excellent performance thus far when the time comes for a full size vacuum I can see purchasing a black and decker as well. I am HUGE on reading reviews. I hope I have covered everything you would like to know to help you make a great purchase with less doubt. For me purchasing like this is an investment and I definitely do not have money to be throwing away. With that being said if you purchase this I have total faith your money is well spent :)

does a good job but noisy
Most important - it does a good job. I have mostly hard floors and three cats. With cat fur and litter I SHOULD use this every day. Sadly, it's so noisy my husband and all cats are unhappy when I get it out. I should have known better as I have a B&D hand vac that I rarely use because it would wake the dead. The vacuum does a good job with litter which is a big concern. It seems slightly self-propelled which makes it easy to use, but it does not steer as well as my old (now dead) stick vacuum. It also does a good job on area rugs. Just be prepared for it to kick into higher (louder) gear when you hit a rug or carpet. Would I buy again??? Probably not - would pay more attention to noise factor in reviews. 3/2026 Shortly after the above review, the vacuum started kicking into high speed when it was not necessary (on hard floors). The downsides of this are that high speed is even noisier and that you can cover much less area. I would prefer to decide myself when more suction is appropriate.

Lighetweight and powerful
I'm really impressed with this vacuum cleaner. It's incredibly powerful and picks up dirt and debris with ease, even from carpets and hard-to-reach corners. Despite its strong suction, it's surprisingly lightweight, which makes it easy to carry up and down stairs or move from room to room without any strain. The ease of use is another standout feature. It's straightforward to operate, and switching between different surfaces is simple. The lightweight design combined with its maneuverability makes vacuuming feel less like a chore. Overall, this is an excellent vacuum that delivers on performance without being bulky or complicated. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable, user-friendly cleaning solution.

Good suction, maneuverable, very small dirt receptacle, speed control problems
I was never thrilled with the first one of these that I bought years ago (review below) but it was okay for my needs. When the suction ceased after 3 years or so I read reviews on quite a few other cordless vacs and all seemed to have about 15% bad reviews, the kind where people return it ow throw it away. Probably this is due to poor quality control in overseas factories that really could care less about the end user. Black and Decker also had about that percentage of bad reviews so I thought, "Since it's a crapshoot, might as well take my chances on the one I am familiar with." Given all that, you would think I would have unboxed it and tried it out immediately but no, things happened and today when I tried it and found it wanting, it is ten days past the return period. So into the trash it goes, that is how bad the suction is. It was fully charged, had never been used so can't be plugged up, and won't pick up inch long bits of dried grass on a smooth floor, or almost invisible bits of dog fur, and won't pick up much of anything on a deep pile carpet. Instead of removing the visible bits of detritus, the vacuum carries it around so that when it is turned off and lifted up, there is the stuff on the floor. I used my handheld Black and Decker vac (five stars for it, I am on my third one I think) to follow behind the stick vac and collect the bits of grass, dog fur, and tiny bits of dried leaves. Did I just get one of the 15% of duds? Well, since it's past its return date, I don't get another chance. ABOVE IS REVIEW FOR ONE I BOUGHT IN JAN 2026 to replace the first one. BELOW IS REVIEW FOR THE FIRST ONE, WHICH WAS adequate and lasted about 3 years. My first review said it came without a charger and I wanted to return it. My fault, later found charger in the packaging. Sorry, Amazon! Pros: โManeuverable for angles, able to put it under most furniture โI like the light which shows me the efficiency with which it gets dust and fur, and it is quite good at that. โFor getting corners and next to baseboards I give it a 7 out of 10. About a quarter of the time I had to make a second try. โNot heavy, but see below about weight distribution. โInitially I found the auto-acceleration of power disconcerting. But it's okay. It also seems to self-adjust to carpet vs bare floor, and to depth of carpet. No complaints about suction power on either type of floor. Watch out, it will suck in carpet fringe quick as a wink. I did have to stop once and cut threads, possibly from the fringe, that had wound around the roller. I've never had a beater-bar vac that didn't have this problem so no big deal. Cons: โVery small dirt receptacle if you have, for example, a lot of dog hair. Also, I find the receptacle easy to remove for emptying but hard to snap back in. โMy sinuses reported that a bunch of dust was bypassing the filter and getting back into the air. โBalks at tiny stones that my dog brings in between her toes. โThe user's manual is totally inadequate: tiny print on flimsy paper (print is so tiny you would think they were printing it on something rare and valuable like gold leaf); exploded diagram showing parts and controls is on one page then you turn the page to find out about them; I ended up photocopying the diagram so I could look at it side by side with the inadequate picture "directions". โDesign suggestion: the device is heavier at the top of the handle, where one holds it, and if more weight were put lower down it would be more balanced and less heavy to operate. Total weight isn't that much but bad weight distribution makes it seem like more. โBattery lasted for 2/3 of my medium sized house which is okay with me, I usually get tired before getting the whole house vacuumed, and come back to it later. For similar reasons, I don't much care about speed of recharge, as long as it's within 3 hours, and I haven't checked on that yet. Summary: Adequate so far. These are made as cheap limited-life appliances. Short of paying $600 for a rechargeable vac, we have little recourse. Maybe our reviews will help, if they influence sales. Another reality of modern cheap manufacturing, I believe, is poor quality control, which is why for some products most people give reviews of "adequate to great" while a minority say that it fell apart after an hour, the parts don't fit together, the battery wears out after 10 minutes, etc. Knock on wood, mine wasn't made on Monday and it may work adequately for a year or more. That is all I feel I can expect. ================ ADDED after further use. Speed control problem The suction power has two speeds that are controlled either automatically or by the user, and for me the design of this is very flawed. The user-control method is that the on-off switch has not 2 but 3 states: Click once to turn it from off to on, and then while it is running if you click again you get the higher speed, click another time to turn it off. If you've accidentally vacuumed up some rug fringe or a light-weight floor mat, so it's caught up in the vacuum, you go to turn the thing off and it just goes faster so sucking the fabric up even worse. There is no way to go from low speed directly to off. The automatic control is even more troublesome to me, because some things on my floor need to be vacuumed at the lower speed so as not to catch up fringes and mats as mentioned above (My doors to the outside have extremely low floor clearance so I have had to find very thin door mats). But as I vacuum, the machine will decide that this task needs higher speed, it will increase the power, and suddenly my Ruggable mat, about the thickness of corrugated cardboard, has been sucked up and the whirling bar is jammed. It happens with mats thicker than Ruggable too, the kind of small washable rugs that you vacuum from front to back while standing on them to hold them in place. I see no need for automatic speed increase, and the manual speed increase should be separate from the on/off process. Same with rug fringe, at low speed I can run the vac quickly over the area next to the fringe and not get the fringe tangled in the revolving bar, but suddenly the auto-control decides to put it into high gear. This tangling isn't good for the rugs, and the sudden stopping isn't good for the machine. Sometimes I wonder if the manufacturers ever put these new designs into the hands of ordinary people, in various household situations, for long enough, and then do they listen to the feedback they get. I don't think so! And the result is that the user has to adapt to the machine because no way to know that a different brand wouldnโt have equally significant failings. I'd like to see product descriptions like this: "In designing our new cordless vac we surveyed a thousand users in detail about their current vacuums, strong points and failings; we designed accordingly; and then we put a small run of the new model into the hands of ordinary users for 3 months, and made adjustments once more based on their reports. Here are some of the users' comments specific to what they found to be the pros and cons. Without effective engineering for real-world users, we are often stuck with products that are the lesser of two evils: short battery life or speed controls that destroy your rugs; shoddy construction or bad ergonomics leading to backache; and so on. Once they've got our money they really couldnโt care less, it seems.

Eight months in and I'm still very impressed. I like it better than the (heavy) Dyson I had....
I wish I could give this 4.75 stars. I've had this for 8 months and it's pretty much exactly what I wanted -- with one exception and one very minor complaint. The good parts? It's light weight -- easy to pick up and put down. Easy to roll across the floor. It changes level from wood floors to carpets. The exception -- everything gets picked up fine. Wood or rug floors. But I really wish you could detach the long pipe from the floor brush so that you could use the long pipe as a long handled crevice tool and not have to bend over to get things. Or make it easier to clean along the floor boards. Please consider it. The minor complaint? The crevice tool doesn't attach to the vacuum and I keep putting it ...well, where did I put it? Obviously not where I just looked. Not for the absent minded....

Great little Vacuum!
Iโve owned this vacuum for about a year and am leaving a review because this is the information I was looking for when choosing to buy it. This is a stellar little vacuum for daily or maintenance cleanings. The battery lasts about 40 minutes and the performance is quite good. Iโve used the Dyson stick vacuums and while not quite as good, for the cost savings this feels like a stellar value. The light makes it easy to see dust and other debris, and so long as you hear the click the vacuum can actually stand upright (unlike the Dyson which loves to fall over). The articulation on the standing attachment foot of the vacuum is great, you can get underneath low sofas and beds really easily, the manuverability is great all around, especially for table legs and corners. It does very well on hard wood floors, decently on tile and well on carpets. Itโs not painfully loud, and the auto sensing suction thing seems to work well enough. The sponge filter at the top is easy to clean, as is the canister. I donโt have pets so I canโt speak to its capabilities for fur, but it does a great job of picking up hair and the roller on the bottom is easily removed to dislodge any trapped hairs. My two complaints (though minor) are that I wish the holder had the cable integrated better for storage, and that sometimes gravel can get caught in the spinning wheel and scratch the floor slightly before getting sucked up into the canister. I love using this to clean up things like onion skins in the kitchen or after using a dust mop to corral the dirt to one spot and picking it up with the vacuum along with dust clinging to the mop. If youโre in a small house or apartment this is probably the perfect option. I think if you have pets and kids it might still be a good option for daily maintenance, but will not replace an old fashioned corded vacuum for serious performance. I would buy this instead of a Dyson personally, as I feel that the performance is acceptably comparable and the cost savings are far worthwhile, and am pleased that a year later there are no issues to report after weekly use

Good & Bad
I am in my late 70s and this is my first cordless vacuum. I love it because it is lightweight, very maneuverable, quiet (compared to every other vac I have had), does a great job on hard floors and an acceptable job on my carpet. But there are two really big and important drawbacks that probably every cordless vacuum has. I have a house (not an apartment) with wall-to-wall carpet in every room, including hallways, except for the kitchen/dinette area and two bathrooms. The carpet is not shag, but not flat either, with pile that catches dirt and dust, cat hairs and tracked litter. I had to charge the battery before using it, and that took hours. So the first day was unpacking it, assembling it, trying it and finding it wasn't charged, and charging it. On the second day, I started with my office area that is also the cat's room (food and litter box) and the vacuum did a decent job even though I had to go back and forth over certain areas. Then I went out into the hallway, and the light blinked that the vacuum battery was low. What? I decided to keep going to see how long the battery would last. I finished the hallway and went into the bathroom and did the floor and bath rug... and the vacuum died. The over-night fully-charged battery had run out! I had planned to do the whole house at one time, like I've always done on vacuuming day, but no. I did two rooms and that was it. BIG disappointment. So, I plugged it in and it took the rest of the day to fully charge again. The second red flag is the tiny dust collector. It only holds about a cup of debris. I brought in a paper bag and would vacuum, stop and dump the debris into the bag, vacuum, stop and dump the debris into the bag, over and over and over. It was easy because the dust container slips off and on easily, but what a HASSLE!! So, short battery life and tiny dust container did it for me. I went right back to Amazon and found and ordered another vacuum cleaner WITH A CORD and a BIG dust container (like my old vac that had finally given up the ghost.) I decided to keep this one to use for quick pick-ups here and there without hauling out the heavy-duty one that's coming. I found a spot by an outlet to keep it charged and handy, and I'll keep using it for the reasons that I love it.

Fabulous Cordless Vacuum
YES!! If you are thinking about this, it is a yes!! LOVE!! Appreciate this little powerful cordless vacuumโto the moon and back!! I love the lightโit shines on all of the dust and helps guide where the dirt is. The battery lasts long enough to vacuum 1700 sq. feet of hardwood floors, plus a few area rugs. It is easy to store, empty the canister, and clean the filter. I like how the battery can charge while the filter is drying (after rinsing the dust out). Excellent purchase!!!

its 18v, not 20v as described...
...and 40 mins estimated use instead of 44 mins. But the biggest concern is that it uses a small 2-hole adapter that plugs near the handle instead of just having charging connectors / pins like most rechargeable vacuums. Worried that the plug won't last long enough with having to plug and unplug it many times to charge. Will return it most likely.
