Flutie and the Blowfish
This Apollo Flute with C foot, complete with case and accessories (Silver-Plated) is an excellent way for a child or young loved one to get into the world of music, while maybe not as stellar as a professional flute, it performs every bit as good as a much more expensive one my godson was using previously. As someone who has always "felt" music pulsing through my veins and loved every bit of it, I feel ashamed to admit that I've never played an instrument, unless of course Rock Band instruments are considered. Yes, I know I'm an awful knob, but such is life. My godson has taken to wind instruments and is really quite good with them so when his parents mentioned he was heartbroken over his cherished flute being stolen out of his locker I began seeking out a replacement that would be suitable for such a young savant. When I gave it to him, he was so happy, it will be a memory I cherish forever and hearing him play it for the first time during a Christmas concert this past weekend was the crowning moment of my year honestly, really put everything into perspective for me and as far as this flute he said it plays wonderfully and is really quality.Overall, this is the perfect set for a beginner or someone who just loves music and playing instruments. 5/5 stars.

Nice sound
My son has been playing traditional Japanese flutes. He has always loved flutes although he's never had a real concert flute like this. This came broken down in a nice case as I expected but with no instructions at all. Luckily my best friend had played flute in high school so I knew how to put it together and a bit about it to get him started. It's a beautiful flute. The valves and openings work wonderfully. He took to it right off, and it turns out that it feels very much like playing his older instruments, so he had the mouth and breath control needed. Well I think it's probably fine for younger students starting out in band, it would be nice for people like him to have an assembly and fingering chart included-just a piece of paper would be great. Also there was no polishing cloth in the case, so I had my husband pick up a silver polishing cloth. I taught him to polish it after he puts it away, and to keep his cloth over it. It has a lovely finish, and a cloth is important to keep it that way. Construction wise, it's a bit longer than some flutes I've handled. I'm very pleased with the tone and sound. To me it seemed very affordable & appropriate for a learning instrument. My son was able to get a tuned good sound right off, so I don't think the instrument's affordable nature would ever be an impediment to learning it. Our flute came with a very nice case, and a cleaning rod.

Great elementary school flute. Easy to assemble and has good sound
For the complete beginner, this is a good quality flute. Better than the elementary school loaners to be sure. Goes together easily. Sounds are not Jethro Tull quality, but still good enough to stand out as better than a recorder. If you are looking for professional grade look elsewhere. But the basic learning is supported by both how it performs and how it looks. There might be an issue with the D note. But we are also working on technique as a possible cause! It's a tough instrument to learn, let's just say that. But we are very pleased with this.

Nice for the price.
I'm an experienced flutist, so I jumped at the opportunity to review the Apollo Flute with C foot, complete with case and accessories. I've used everything feom high end instruments to the super cheap purple flute from wish, and in general, as with most things, the more you're willing to pay, the better quality you'll receive and the better the sound, and the nicer of a playing experience you will have. That said, for the current retail price of $188, this is a great option for the very casual player, and it comes with an absolutely beautiful and incredibly useful storage case. This c concert flute is sized and configured just like any other I've played in the past. It was easy to assemble straight out of the box without any parts sticking, or any difficulty. I was impressed that the keys function beautifully without loud clicks, and none of the pads stuck. It was ready to play straight off the bat.The sound quality is decent, although I struggled to achieve a very clear and pure sound on some notes. You definitely hear a bit more air than on a very expensive instrument. However, for someone who plays recreationally at home and doesn't mind it, this is a lovely option to get back into the habit of playing again. I think if you're looking for a budget instrument, this one is decent. I just wish it had come with a fuzzy caterpillar style cleaner for the inside. I had to purchase one separately.

Perfect start to flute playing
I am not an expert in instruments or flutes so a lot of my knowledge is based on what I have learned about instruments in general. For this price point this is going to be a decent beginners instrument, and as you progress you can find higher and higher levels of precision and accuracy as well as sound creation made by higher end instruments. For the beginner, this is a great set. Everything is packaged well in its protective carrying case. I was able to play the flute right out of the box without and real tuning needed. Now I just need some lessons.
